1. £10 minimum wage (Tory’s are promising £10.50)
2. National care service to end H&SC crisis (not sure how that’s working class retired class maybe)
3. Increased investment in NHS ser (Tory’s promises same thing only less investment
4. End of zero hours contracts and emphasis on secure work (il give you this one)
5. 6 years of free education (again not working class since the ones receiving it are kids not working)
6. Free broadband (I guess you can call it working class but it’s not aimed at working class is it?)
7. Free TV license for over 75s (again not working class as I doubt many over 75s work)
8. Most investment in NHS
And of course a substantial Green Initiative that would address the oncoming extinction of the human race, which I think will benefit the working class at least a bit
But the reality is that labour are promising the moon with no way to deliver and even if they could prove they could and would do all that they are woefully ignoring the democratic referendum and democracy is far more important than a couple of sweeties that we may or may not get
As we all know, it's not free. As has been pointed out, low paid workers are contributing more too. We're all paying more but would benefit from restoration of 10 years + of service decimation. It comes down to judging whether communally, we all want to pay more or not
Your point was that the working class bod was paying more. Clearly not when you take into account the benefits in the overall package.
Doesn't matter if middle class people all benefit from the policy or not. If the working class benefit then they gain more pro rata based on income (not that I agree that eduction, dental care and broadband should be universally free by the way). They end up better off than they were.
And you're saying that the minimum wage increase isn't a working class policy benefit simply cos the tories are pledging to do the same, albeit further down the line? Harshingtons.
His obsession over renationalising is a problem personally I don’t care if he renationalises or not what I don’t like is the amount of money his obsession will cost people and it will cost money to buy company’s and he certainly couldn’t seize it by force by staying in Eu, the European courts wouldn’t let him. I said to my dad yesterday if he said he would buy 1 or two and use money they make to buy the other two it would be more credible, but labours main issue is brexit his front bench are all pro Eu even if he gets a deal and I’m pretty sure it will include three freedoms and block us trading with anyone but them and who they say we can trade with, no one from labours front bench would campaign for the deal.
I said a month before the election the best thing corbyn could do is re balance his front bench and this campaign has proved my point, he maybe neutral but it’s a remainer party and although it may bring remain votes in brexit voters who voted labour last time like myself feel betrayed.
First my Point was they are not MORE FOR the working class than the others.
And they will pay more he’s already planning to tax pensioners 400 a month even if they do get free tv license and you knock that off it’s still £387 worse off under labour.
Also let me tell you a little funny story old man down the road said to me “oh I’m going to get free broadband if labour get in”
I said to him “ oh why can’t you afford it now?
He said “no iv never had the need of is I have a computer”
This convo went on a bit of me asking what devices he had he didn’t have any and wasn’t going to get any even if he got broadband.
I asked “why do you want free broadband?”
“Well it will be free won’t it?”
