Have to admit things improved after half time but on the whole that maybe flattered us.the late Raith counter possibly making it a truer picture over the 90 minutes.
A decent crowd attracting the" floaters" and they are subjected to an indifferent performance ( so far)

I thought that neither team played very coherent football in the first half with virtually no chances created by either side. The second was different especially after Queens went ahead and spaces began to open up in the Raith defence which we ruthlessly exploited. Thoroughly deserved in the end but by do we need the genius of Dobbie who makes all the difference in these types of games. Raith only really created the one chance from which they scored while we hit the wood work twice and Dobbie was unfortunate late on not to grab a deserved hat trick.
Bring on the Hibees next Saturday, Mon the South.
Maybe a bit soon in your evaluation dirt bag
Blimey. We beat one of our nearest rivals and we're top of the league. Cause for celebration I'd say?!
Was also thinking along those lines Louis - We were solid in the first half and they were not much of a threat - their defence threw in the towel second half under pressure from Dobbie and Co - crowd several hundred up so let's keep it going - our bubble may burst at Ibrox on Tuesday but on Saturday we have chance to go five points ahead of Hibs - happy days !
The team can't play champagne football all the time. First half was a really tough contest with Raith working very hard to close us down and we done the same to them. Once the physical battle was taken care of, it gave us the platform to go out and get the goals.
The team is working like there proverbials off all over the park and we have a solid spine right down the middle. Good times
These average attendances are a bit skewed if you were to compare us to say Raith. Raith only brought about a hundred fans yesterday and would take far, far more to the likes of Falkirk, Hibs and Dunfermline. . These teams in turn repay the favour. It's all location, location.
How many really and truly thought that Queens would be sitting at the top of the league into the second half of September? So let's celebrate that. It may not be "all location", JRS, but location is a significant factor. I have posted so often that our place in Scottish football is dictated principally by geography and demography, which is why Queens will never be a major force. However, it is somewhat disappointing that, for what should be one of the more attractive fixtures of the season, we fall 136 short of the 2000 barrier regardless of the number of "away" fans in attendance. Sadly, it simply re-enforces my oft expressed views that, for many, football has ceased to be of interest.
