    Our Ancestors

Our ancestors from around 10,000 years ago were dark/black skinned, had blue eyes, dark hair and couldn't drink milk.

White skinned people arrived around 6,000 years ago from the Middle East. The lighter skin colour is thought to come from a vitamin deficiency.

Well, that's what the scientists are saying as a result of studying Cheddar Man.

Fascinating where we've come from 59/60, but more intriguing is where we go to when we pop our clogs. Will that be it, gone forever, nothingness, or is there something else, do we continue in some shape or form ?

    We’re there any cows then?
Genealogy is very interesting ... and time consuming.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust it says in the Bible.
    Sounds like recycling to me.

    .

well imagine that - and all this time - I thought we were orange with blue dots

...and how one individuals dna tells all - is beyond me.

    but then -

A cutting-edge scientific analysis shows that a Briton from 10,000 years ago had dark brown skin and blue eyes.

so " a Britain"....I take it that means one ?....but I guess there could have been more - but then what am I supposed to think - and why should I care what colour it was ? means nothing to me..... .

Researchers from London's Natural History Museum extracted DNA from Cheddar Man, Britain's oldest complete skeleton, which was discovered in 1903.

and the Red Lady of Paviland - who's around 20 thousand years older than Cheesy Cheddar doesn't count because he's older - and not a complete skeleton ?

More Pointless mind numbing Dross !

Is the Red Lady a man?

We are all homo sapiens which is the systematic name used in taxonomy for anatomically modern humans, i.e. the only extant human species. The name is Latin for "wise man" and was introduced in 1758 by Carl Linnaeus. (From Wikipedia).

There is an exemption for the good folks of Blackburn I assume?

seemingly Colner - Buckland (the discoverer) found fancy items around the burial site - so wrongly believed it was a woman.

Apparently there was a bloody big explosion about 13.8 billion years ago which produced a lot of gas, energy and total chaos.

Now, consider the human body. It is incredibly complex. An easy read is Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Nearly Everything"
For instance, a single human cell contains countless millions of objects that are whizzing around doing ***** stuff to keep us alive. To power the cells we have tiny batteries that power all these objects. In each cell there are around a billion of these batteries which lose their charge every two minutes. But they are all replaced by fully charged up ones. The human cell is even more complex than that.

And that is just a single cell, the human body is almost infinitely more complex than that.

So, out of this chaotic mass of energy and gas somehow we appeared? I can't believe that and so, even though I come from a scientific background, I believe that there MUST be some intelligence driving the universe.

Practically every civilisation has believed in a greater power.

But I would look no further than the Aborigines. These guys have lived together for around 50,000 years (Cheddar Man was 10,000 years old remember?) In these years they have survived a very hostile environment with practically nothing to help them. They are fully attuned to nature (well, they WERE until we "educated" them and took away the land that they lived on).
The always found food, water and shelter.
Their belief (and I will take their advise on this over any other race of people) is that EVERYTHING is connected to everything else. IE, humans, animals, rocks etc.
When there is a death in their community they do not grieve. Instead they party and rejoice that the person has moved on to the next stage of their development.

Anyroad, we will all find out soon enough.
