Our ancestors from around 10,000 years ago were dark/black skinned, had blue eyes, dark hair and couldn't drink milk.

White skinned people arrived around 6,000 years ago from the Middle East. The lighter skin colour is thought to come from a vitamin deficiency.

Well, that's what the scientists are saying as a result of studying Cheddar Man.
