59 Practically every civilisation has believed in a greater power.

Yes and some believe in many different Greater powers. However that was in the days we couldn’t explain almost everything through science and people feared the great unknown. They hoped to mitigate against their fears by praying to their God’s.
Just such a pity that fighting for ones god has made the world such a less safe place.

Then you must ask ,the next question, Why did that 'intelligence' create ,drive etc this Universe?
On a serious matter it would be interesting for the 'Turf Moor' intelligencia' to explain this mysterious resulting phenomenon.

Ok but what intelligence drives the development of a child from a sperm and an egg. Does some intelligence choose the sperm?
We can look back billions of years in our universe to see galaxies forming spontaneously. It doesn’t need some intelligence to drive it.
In any event these intelligences are not gods that can be influenced by prayer or lay down laws for believers.

I could give you perfect answers then I would not be 'Balam',as you think I am today? But lets take another example:
Say I choose 5 teams playing this wekend and I forcast the correct results,that means I could have 20 points more than others (as nobody guesses them correctly) Who has really choosen them and why?
Above (#10) those natives of Australia say everything is connected,"" is that EVERYTHING is connected to everything else". Therefore I am connected to what we call GOD,and GOD is connected to me! Then in some seed form I am recieving thoughts connected to the ''something else,that source of intelligence (GOD)'' As the seed forms grows and becomes a greater thought. It becomes later action in my mind. Thought becomes transferred into action
Let us say that this creation ,is all waves, flux/ its all in a constant state of change! Something must create those waves??
Let us say you create a monkey riding a white horse in your mind.You can create anything you want with the hourse and monkey!! It can jump a fence ,fall etc.
My conclussion ""we are all in the thought waves of the Entity beyond and in our minds!'' Consciousness!

That's two of us Chalky, I was just about to post the same thing. Never mind all that lot, I'm still trying to figure out where the hole and channels are on a football field.

Aye, Chalky, I don't think our minds are capable of imagining stuff like this.

Whether we, and other incredibly complex things, just happened out of complete chaos, or whether there is some inherent intelligence in the universe, are both practically impossible for us to imagine.

And, as Balambam asked, what was there before the big bang? The big bang theory asks us to imagine, before the big bang, complete nothingness in which even time doesn't exist. So where did the primeval atom come from? Why did it suddenly decide to explode? How could this even happen if time doesn't exist?

I doubt we will ever be able to answer these questions - at least in this life.
