    Rearranged games/Sunderland game off

    Anyone looking ahead.
Portsmouth And possibly Sunderland. We only have realistically 2 midweek slots available. 5th or 6th of April. That's the Tue or Wednesday after the trip to Wembley. And 26th April

So if the Sunderland game is cancelled due to international break we will be playing
Portsmouth on the 5th or 6th. And Sunderland on the 26th april (Portsmouth play Wigan this night)

Might be possible to bring one or even both of the games forward although the EFL might not been keen on that idea
    22 March or 29 March

PW might want a free week asap and might not want to play midweek before the Wembley match

    Beggars can't be choosers though

Typical of the FA, they may well make us play midweek before the final. Imagine a trip all the way up to Sunderland with a long trek home. Warne said they didn’t get back from Hartlepool until 1 am last Thursday. Now tell me that’s not going to affect us if that scenario happens.

There is an extra day recovery that week as the final is on a Sunday. Not ideal either way

There is the 12th April.dont know about the opponents schedule but a pragmatic approach that iit’s at least it’s between 2 home games.so no double travelling.and before anyone bleats I know Ipswich is on Friday but like I say at least they are both at home.

If one date is the 5th or 6th.because the final is on tv opponents have to agree to the Wednesday night, suppose other option to that if it’s pompey they could stay down there after Wembley…

Given all that the squad has been managed well so far this season so I can’t see it being a big problem now.

Ferguson called up for Northern Ireland

The Millers are still awaiting news of whether any further players will be called up to represent their nations, and subsequently, whether those call-ups will affect the Sky Bet League One fixture set to be played at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland on Saturday 26th March 2022.

Probably Sunderland will also have players called up, if we have any more out them we won’t have a squad to put out

As expected Sunderland game is off

As per Rotherham United official Twitter feed:

Rotherham United’s upcoming Sky Bet League One trip to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday 26th March 2022 has been postponed following notification of the necessary number of international call-ups within Paul Warne’s side.

The Millers were set to face the Black Cats in the North East in just over a week’s time but with a number of their squad away representing their nations, this fixture will now be rearranged.

At present, call-ups for Shane Ferguson and Joshua Kayode have been officially confirmed, with further announcements set to follow when the relevant nations make their squads public.

The two clubs have already been in discussions with one eye on any potential involvement over the ‘international break’ and are currently looking to finalise a new date for the fixture, which will be confirmed once it has been approved by the EFL.
