You are number 2 in the que, phoning the GP

My sister has just come back from holiday and opend a doctors letter saying please ring the surgery.
So you gave them a call, you are number 2 in the que. Hour and half later you are number 2 in the que , she waiting for some hospital results.
So go in the car drove to the surgery, went up to reception and said "don't you answer the phone"
Snotty reception lady, replied what do you mean, sister in showed them her phone still repeating you are number 2 in the que.
She showed them she had been on the phone for hour and 50 minutes, they said there are only 2 of them on today.
Both of them was was chatting away and all the phones we ringing out.
Then they told her the Doctor wants you to book an appointment and they told her they could book her in on July 29th would you like morning or afternoon.
    She is furious.

It often depends on which receptionist you get. I've experienced both recently, at the same practice. One was awkward and obstructive and the other couldn't have been more helpful. It should always be the latter but unfortunately it isn't.

These shysters want a 30% pay rise too! Disgusting!!

I tried to make a doctors appointment today as feeling unwell and wanted it before I go on holiday on 15th July. No appointments whatsoever until the 18th so I said August then - Told you can’t book in more than 3 weeks in advance!

I will cheat the system and ask for an emergency appointment on Monday!!!

    Disgusting service!

I’m awaiting the results of a X Ray on my hip and groin.

Surgery rang to offer me a telephone consultation with the doctor within a one hour window 10 days ahead FFS!

All it needed was the phone operative to tell me my hip was f u c k e d and I needed a follow up appointment or it was fine.

I don’t get the delay or the wasted time of this middle person.

I had to chase a blood test result but only a couple of results came through and the receptionist said - I am not medically qualified but one indicator is border line but nothing to worry about!!!! Stupid b itch so understand she’s not medically qualified but like saying your building could go up in flames BUT don’t worry! Idiot!!

But hey f uck all the cancer patients and those in need. Covid is coming back apparently and all hands on deck for the fourth vaccination which many people don’t want! What next insisting kids have the jab again when it’s not needed and never was unless the kid is medically at risk or a fatty!

Useless t ossers! No wonder people would rather go private even if they can’t afford it! Maybe that’s the plan!!

2030 - pay for NHS treatment and retirement age is 78!

Took me a month to get through. Best I could get was 22nd in the queue. I once sent an email for an appointment and was told not to do it again as they had 27,000 patients on their books. There’s about 20 doctors.

How many of these 27,000 are dead or will be dead without appointments?

My wife has a mate whose daughter is a GP. Apparently 80% of her workload is dealing with mental health issues. A good proportion of them are time wasters but they daren't ignore them in case they top themselves & then there will be all hell to play. No wonder they don't have time to deal with real medical issues!
