I can't understand why anyone wants to work if they don't have to.
Conditioning probably.

I am getting on now but don’t get why all these old farts in high powered jobs are allowed to continue
Nancy Pelosi - 82
Biden - 79
Putin - 73
Lavrov - 72
Do Jinping ( China ) - 69
Narendra Modi ( India ) - 71
Are these t wats bothered about the younger generation. Pathetic how these w ankers don’t want to enjoy their last 20 years ( if lucky ) before they are brown bread rather than the power trip!
Surprised at 82 Pelosi even wanted to go to Taiwan for a day at her age and inflame China which helps the Russian propaganda!
Don’t get it especially when in many high powered jobs you are considered over the hill
at 50!
I can't understand why anyone wants to work if they don't have to.

That's my point Des - all these mentioned will be super rich. Many can't stand Sunak because of their obscene wealth and being out of touch. You have got it right by enjoying yourself in retirement and I will soon join in retirement you before tomorrow never comes. Your a long time dead! Mr Hayes Travel for his millions died a sad death at the Sunderland HQ - what a waste!
It’s because they all have nothing else in their lives. The supposed power these individuals wield is difficult to give up.
Reminds me of an individual at work who said on her retirement “I don’t know what I’m going to do now”. Very sad.
I left at the earliest opportunity; do I regret it? Never! I don’t know how I found the time to go to work!
Giving up power and essentially becoming irrelevant once it has gone is very hard to give up.
Look how bodger fought to stay in charge.
I have been fortunate enough to talk to more then a few end of life patients where I work.
To a person, not one of them ever mentioned work on their death beds.
One guy who did and was a high powered sort of fellow who use work 16 hour days from childhood had lots of regrets. None of them thought about how much they worked in their life practically till they were diagnosed with a terminal disease.
Usually by then it is to late. That always gave me a little life as I do the bare requirements expected of me in the place.
This one is close to home for me.
I’m intending to retire around my 61st birthday later this year and it’s not easy for someone like me and with my personality.
It’s that word “control” Dubs.
You get so used to having it when you’re in my position that giving it up makes you feel impotent.
I keep having this recurring dream that I’m back at one of my old jobs where I was really successful and well thought of and I’m now back there and am now a lazy, useless, f u c k and I get the sack!
The mind and emotions are a very weird thing.
