    Pressley

I'm being absolutely serious here when I say I really don't think I'll be able to get behind the team this season with him as head coach (manager by any other name). Already bought my season ticket but, as it stands, I can see it getting very little use.

I really think he'll struggle to get the fans behind anything he does and it's going to turn very toxic very quickly if he doesn't get off to a very, very good start.

I honestly despair of John Nelms at times, he needs to get his head out his erse and learn to read the room. Season ticket sales have reduced year on year since he came in and this type of appointment isn't going to stop that.

Not that I particularly care anymore I'm done with worrying about DFC until nelms is gone...

    But

What I am astonished about is that DFC fans are astonished that nelms knows what he is doing and he gives one shiny ****e what supporters think.....supporters are an irrelevance to him a complete and utter irrelevance....nae an inconvenience.

Proven time and time and time again he dosent care about fans and barely conceals his hostility towards them.

I bet Dochertys doubled up laughing.

Anyway back 31 Aug for opening of new stadium.

See you there, I'll be one in the long grass at the west side of the completely derelict site.

That twitter is hilarious, boys wanting there money back before a ball is kicked, probably the same boys who backed Mcpake to the hilt and slaughtered Lyall.

Not my first choice by any means and a very risky appointment, but it?s bizarre watching people get so excited annd upset especially the ones that rarely go.

I?m not happy with this appointment but I?ll give him first quarter before I make judgement, he seems to be getting a lot of credit from Brentford for his last four years work, no doubt on a decent wage there, I wonder what he thinks he can do with Dundee FC anything short of top 6 will be failure, a hell of a gamble for both sides

Sorry, jdfc, I think anything above 12th will be an amazing result. If he could get to 10th before the last game of the season that would be progress.
I don't see what John Nelms is thinking about with this appointment. Very few posters even give a wait and see tone to their comments.

Same finish as this season isn't progress. Anything between 10th and 7th at Christmas is failure, anything below 10th at Christmas is abject failure and instant dismissal. Only top six is acceptable.

If the unthinkable happens then this has to be the last appointment Nelmsy makes before the fans turn fully on him - they've already started to turn with this appointment.

Certainly not a happy place but if Pressley is doing a different role from the traditional managers role, maybe it will work. Remember the Marrs brought in a new idea with Cannigia etc. Maybe John Nelms is trying something new, for us!?

Yep, will go along with that calm and Sensible outlook GB.
Guys were saying they did not want the usual managerial merry go round of the same faces turning up, well we've certainly parted from that particular path.
One thing we know for certain is that the coach/manager position will as usual only be temporary as the inevitable outcome will be the sack, the same as there are no guarantees with any manager appointed that they will be successful even after achieving success elsewhere.

I'm excited to see what he brings, as it may be different and perhaps just surprise us all, nobody knows.

    Give him a chance.
