Thread: Steven Pressley

    Steven Pressley

Odds on with most betting firms now for the Rotherham job, Ronnie Moore out to 7/2.

Wouldn't be my choice to be honest. Left Fleetwood most recently winning 11 out of 40 with them.

Spent most of his career in Scotland so must have a chance eh!!

I think we may go in for Keith Hill from Rochdale.

How can someone who has only managed Falkirk in the Scottish First Division, two League 1 teams in England - with very limited success - and who has no Championship experience be installed as odds on favourite? Do the bookies think we're going for an Alan Stubbs clone? And how does he fit the TS profile? (Ok, neither did Stubbs but I'm hoping some lessons have been learned somewhere).

I reckon if you were to go down to Ladbrokes and put £20 on me getting the job then I would shoot up the bookies odds lists

They like us are completely baffled as to how RUFC pick new managers.

Tbh bookies rarely get it wrong lads once things have settled.

Ronnie shortened just because he quit at Eastleigh and they put 2 and 2 together.

There will be some mileage in this I'm afraid.

That's what always baffles me, riley, TS comes out with all the usual 50 applicants, sifting next week, second or maybe a third interview... and we end up with the guy who was favourite the month before. Shades of Derren Brown.

I know Leeds, you're right what you are saying.

Fact is bookies have their sources and get the info they need.

Agents friends, a glut of money coming from a certain area or even someone within the club.

What other reason could there be for SP suddenly going odds on.

Looking at the bigger picture he fits the remit. Cheap and available.

What I will say is Coventry fans at one point loved him and were blaming their owners for potentially driving a young talented manager with a bright future away.

Myself his last job was poor and I wouldn't pick him out for us.

Prefer someone like Slade personally, although my true personal choice would be Ronnie for one more go.

What will be, will be I suppose.

Chris Powell a good bloke for job, backed him for the Millers job before, at Bet Fred, Ladbrokes would not give me a price.

so might risk another bet on him, thats if he's put in for job.
