    O/T Leonard Cohen RIP

Am I the only fan on here of this gravel-voiced troubadour? Along with Dylan, one of the great lyricists of the 20C and a memorable singing voice.

Thanks Leonard for some precious memories and bringing us your unique brand of gloom.

An acquired taste, personally I didn't like him, but an obvious talent.

It's an annoying song on some of the cover versions.

The lyrics have lines ending "do ya", "knew ya" and "overthrew ya" so it rhymes with hallelujah, but you get some cover artists that go all queens English and sing knew you, do you and overthrew you. Which doesn't rhyme and makes it rediculous.

I'm with you, giddy. His death was less of a surprise than some of the others we've had this year (he was 82) but he will definitely be missed in the CTM household. One of those sound tracks of life in the sixties and early seventies.

I absolutely love Hallellujah, but I do consider his version only the third best. RIP.
