O/T Covid in Rotherham General Hospital.

Has posted I went in Rotherham General Hospital on Tuesday 15th March, for a
new hip operation, got discharged Wednesday 16th March.
[ Man waiting at the side of my bed, for me to leave, he was in it, when I left
    the ward. ]

I was told to contact my G/P for nursing for my wound etc, we telephoned all
day Thursday & Friday, but got no joy.

Saturday 19th March my wound started leaking very badly, so I knew G/P centre
was shut, thought shall I phone hospital, no I went on the Rother Care intercom
service, run by RMB Council to which we pay a weekly fee.
I mentioned contacting Rotherham Hospital, the lady working for Rother Care said,
no do not get in touch with the hospital, you don't want to go there, because there
    is a outbreak of covid.
So they gave me a number for District nursing, to whom I contacted, who then
    sent out a nurse.

Not at all happy with the G/P surgery, I have called in twice the week before, there
were no patients in the waiting room or outside, so why is that no one picking the
    phone up.

That's disgusting ELK. I've had the same with my doctor's this last week, Dalton, where I'd been trying to get through to make an appointment all week and finally got through to a receptionist on Friday with her telling me that there weren't any appointments left for that day and that I would have to try again on Monday at 8.am. I told her that I'd been trying to get through all week and she then asked what was wrong with me, so I told her and then she made a face-to-face appointment for me a couple of hours later. Everything's changed since this covid thing turned up and nothing's the same anymore. Personally I've got that many things going on with my health that I don't know where to start when the doctor asks me what's wrong. I can laugh when I talk about it but in reality it's not funny. The World is fu**ed up.

The GP system is deeply flawed

Too many if them doing private work and an increasing number of people wanting their time when they are available

It's not the world, in every other western country GPs continued working, it was only here where they did a bunk.

As long as people keep thinking that the NHS is the "envy of the world" and that the staff can do no wrong, things will only get worse, because there's no incentive for them to improve.

Sympathy there mate. I had a quadruple heart bypass in July 2020 and had no luck trying to contact a GP since ? Ringing my GP at 08:00 to get an appointment is futile.

I don't understand why GPs have not be accepting patients in th UK. It never happened here and we can appointment easily.
It could be the way they are paid. I read that in France they get a bonus and then get paid per visit. By the way it's free if you're on low wage are have a chronic illness.
Otherwise we pay 7% salary to the health system then get a top up insurance. This top up insurance pays you back up to 100% of what you pay out.

I'm writing this sat in an ICU room n ssow. The NHS system isnt
