Pope could do to take some lessons from Traffords trotters
That second strike from Brum would have needed another five keepers and they still wouldn't have stopped it. What a strike thaat was.
Enjoyed that and the Orient goal today, sort of thing you love to see as a fan.
Cracking cup tie. Pope looks really shaky with his feet and sends the occasional exorcit to his defenders.
I think Nick would struggle in this Parker side. Trafford is a different class with his feet, he is incredibly confident and composed
I recall that this was the reason why Southgate preferred Pickford to Pope. You have to wonder what they practice day to day if he is still uncomfortable using his feet after all these years. Anyway, Nick is still a great “stopper” who stepped in and stepped up to the plate when Tom was injured.
Has made 81 competitive appearances for Newcastle and conceded 86 goals.
He played 155 competitive games for us and conceded 189 goals.
A very decent record for any keeper.
I thought both goalies had decent games, we are a club that seems to nurture very good keepers.
We've had some good uns and some not so good, the Admirable Crichton never filled me with much confidence, NTG never even bothered moving to any shot from outside the box, Roger 'No Hands' Hansbury was exactly that, Lee Grant was vastly over-rated and none of those who witnessed it will ever forget the late Mark Kendall's horror show at Blackpool.
Crichton played representing Yorkshire with me amd played with him a while till he made it .
Kendall was the worst - standing in the rain on the open end at Blackpool after he?d played brilliant for Wolves against us was a. Very depressing day out .
Mark Kendall's horror show at Blackpool was one of those moments I wished I had not witnessed.
If I recall correctly we got stuffed 5-0.
