    New stadium

Few reports today that its gonna be 65k, Leazes park and no overlap with SJP.
Design - something like Allianz arena in Munich, bubble-wrap design

Capacity just 13 thousand more to keep ?high demand?

My take - never liked these bubble like modern stadiums. There are ok somewher on outskirts of the city, but design wise dont take your breath away.
Cant believe that there are no better design than that.
But should see pictures first, though

That has now been rubbished by a different set of reporters. . . so who knows really.

I do think we'll aim for the new location and I do think Leaze Park is the preference.

I don't think we'll go to stup numbers as they want to retain atmosphere etc. As that sells us on tv making more revenue and they don't want lots of empty seats on tv. However, I would expect their to be capacity for increasing seats if needed.

I guess bowl stadiums work better for additional revenue purposes.

I?ll be very surprised if it isnt a new build in Leazes Park. Also be surprised if its only 65k capacity.

Craig Hope reckons Leazes park and 65, 000.

Luke Edwards has rubbished the claims-because he's a bitter, twisted little shite.

    ...which means it's probably true.

Much as we could attract more than 65,000 for massive games, a bigger capacity would see empty seats on a fairly regular basis if we were having a season like this one, imo.

I wonder if theres a high demand for the hospitality areas? Itll be key to income to see how much the capacity of these increases in the new stadium. Not great for the man on the street, I know, but its critical that match day income is increased (rather than attendance alone).

Other sources claim, the team studied the Las Vegas Raiders stadium, which is amazing looking.

65k is a good start it will be a 'Future Proof Build' with major expansion within the same footprint. No doubt there will be scope to grow the capacity to 80k for example.

Also the one thing that people don't consider or talk about when talking about 'capacity' is the expansion of 'Corporate Suites/boxes'. This is how the big clubs grow their revenue on match day far beyond the single seat costs.

So within the new stadium there will be boxes 360 degree around the ground rather than just in the Milburn and Leazes stands.

That doubles capacity straight away. Also a smart design will facilitate more boxes, possibly two floors of boxes. Depending on demand from the corporate sector regionally and internationally.

Yeah, I was thinking similar about future expansion.
Absolutely; the key variable is match day income, not number of bums on seats.

The new stadium is not just about match day revenue. League home Football matches are 19 or the 38 matches / year. So the stadium makes money 19 days out of 365. For any business that is appalling!

Spur stadium is a multi-function stadium. they have a go-kart track in the basement apparently and a micro-brewery.

The also host concerts, NFL matches and all manner of other functions boosting the revenue the stadium as a venue generates exponentially.

The club need to increase commercial revenue streams and multi-function stadium use is an excellent 'non-football' way of doing so.

Allegiant stadium 65k. Round modern stadium but looks steep and not miles from the pitch. Black and white too. Will fans have final say on whether to stay or go?
