    Scarborough FC

I have family that follow Scarborough home and away and been to a few matches myself and chatted to Jonno Greening who manages them.

They have started off brilliantly and 2nd from top. I can see Greening going on to better things although he loves Scarborough and they are supporter owned which is brilliant.

Well done Jonno a true legend!

Never been to the new ground, went a few times to the old Mc Cain stadium ( now Lidl), watched Whitby Town in the FACup early rounds, lost 2-0 but could have been so different if when the Whitby forward Pitman rounded the keeper only to see his shot stick in a puddle 2 yards out

I remember well the days when a football match had puddles on the pitch....

I went to the McCain a few times to Bomber and it was a decent little stadium. A decent stand behind the one goal. Such a shame the owner screwed them over. Always had decent support and now one of few clubs owned entirely by the supporters. I bet Greening will get snapped up! Really decent guy!

As opposed to a game I saw where Tony Ford's shot, which was going wide, until it hit a puddle and went in against Charlton in the FA Cup.

Not been to Scarborough's ground, the Dingle falling through the roof (probably nicking lead) put me off, as don't like the thought of it raining dingles.

It was a proper ground with proper hard supporters Blood. That said in these areas they would be the first to get their money out and buy you a drink if you got talking. Went to a Scarborough match in Leeds last season and they brought about 500. I wore a West Brom top and top credit to Greening who came over for a chat. Top bloke!

I hope you doing well AL with your health issues.

Previously, when we have been without a manager I think I heard you mention Greening, and how well he is doing. I am happy he is as "Jesus" was great for us and puddles wouldn't have been a problem for him in those walking on water days.

Don't know much about Scarborough other than they have been non league for a while and that Colin was their manager a very long time ago I think, and the flying Dingle and McCain (chips) ground.

Thanks for asking Blood. Not great health wise but the old saying - live for today is so true. Off to Seville in a few weeks. If you have not been then go - one of my favourite cities and for me such a great place. Follow Scarborough because a lot of family live In Bridlington and go to their games plus Greening is there. Always a legend in my eyes and fun fans because rough diamonds but hearts of gold.

Will definitely do Hull away on 20th Dec as the family that way who follow Scarborough will join me at this match. Like it was at Boro - ?2 a pint in Hull.
