O / T Victorian Tramway to Beach in Scarborough

Mentioned in a posting, about the Victorian Tramway to the beach in Scarborough, about the ownership of the lift. Mentioned about the Pursehouses owning the business, talking to a member of staff, the Pursehouse family still own the Tramway lift. a good little earner at £1.30 per person. Used it today.

And up until recently the Spa was managed by Sheffield International Venues which might explain how dilapidated it looks.

Overall Scarborough is going down the pan

The Grand Hotel is such a beautiful building but it is so grotty inside it is a health hazard.

Not just Scarborough, lot of businesses closed during the lockdowns and didn't open again.

Also the summer season in Scarborough doesn't really start until July.

We were in Scarborough wetherspoons in November last year, some people who were staying in the Grand Hotel, were going to wetherspoons for food, they said food was crap & the hotel needed a big revamp.

Same applies to Bridlington but that town looks on the up, Scarborough doesn’t
