    Kane Hemmings

Stubbs' Scottish connections aren't working. Here's a 24 year old forward, highly rated by many in the game who scored 25 goals in 37 games for Dundee. He was desperate to return to England. He's just signed for Oxford for £250,000. Watch out for this lad; he's top quality. Why we didn't take a punt at this price is beyond me.

To all the loyalists who admire TS's penny-pinching corner shop approach. Me and others aren't demanding spending "multi-millions" and we aren't losing out to "bigger clubs" but to teams like Oxford and Barnsley that have that ingredient missing from NYS - AMBITION. We could have got Hemmings and Bradshaw for around £750k and I suspect we would have been looking at a much cheerier season.

Monty....see your point but was Hemmings Championship quality? Did Stubbs know he was available? Did Stubbs know all along and think no thanks? We don't know anything on the outside so we can't really comment can we?

We see these players being banded about and snapped up and IF Stubbs is prepared to let them slide by then he seriously must have players of far better quality waiting in the wings...,if he hasn't and we struggle and dip then he must get ready for the wrath which may surely come his way....

This is the longest waiting game... pre season ...I've ever known any manager at RUFC perform.... Hero or villain let's wait and see...

One week to go and he's taking a massive gamble at this rate.... tic toc tic toc as they say....

Brin, fair comment. This is a message board and a bit of controversy and comment are life blood otherwise let's just have a "UTM in Stewart we trust" sticky.
I only mentioned KH as my niece's husband is a Dundee fan and he's gutted. reckons the lad is the best he's seen play for the club. As I said, watch out for him and don't be surprised if a Championship club pay £2m for him within a year or two.

750K for the pair. Nope never in a million years. Barnsley paid more than that for Bradshaw. BTW. Don't believe the £550K spouted it's not even close. Also with the add-ons we bid more than 750K.
Bradshaw is another Stevie may. Over priced and he needs to produce.

May is at Preston North End. Not sure what price the Owls got for him.Did hear May was unfortunate back end of last season and broke a leg.

You're right to a point. The Bradshaw fee was £650k (from a horse's mouth) so we probably looking at closer to £1m for both.
However, your Stevie May suggestion can only be sour grapes. He scored 20 goals last season and bagged 2 in his first run out for Barnsley. Ask any Barnsley fan if they have the slightest doubt. Overpriced my rrse.

Noooooo to Kane Hemmings. Barnsley signed him from Scotland two years ago and didn't renew his contract . He's 24 so he was old enough then and wasn't good enough
