16 year olds could be given the vote

Thanks to Labour and endorsed by the Libs kids could get the vote. It’s tactical of course as they will out number the elderly who vote conservative mostly and are remainers.
You will find Labour will offer free iPhones and free subscriptions to Netflix, while the Lib Dem’s will offer free hugs and kisses to everyone and free medals if you come last in anything.

Give it to them I say,

How is it fair you can have a child, pay taxes and join the army at 16 - but you can't vote..?

Diddums - 123 wants to vote as he's 16!!!!!! Idiot!

Your comments are utter bollox too! Americans can join the army at 16 - drive in some States at 15 but can't have a beer until 21. Whether it's the UK or USA - that's life so get over it.

No 16/17 year old should not be allowed to vote, in this election anyway, just to suit the liberals desperate for votes.

You truly have some bizarre analogies.

We're not talking about America. Its a bit like me saying, 'well in Vietnam they can do (whatever I want to say) at 15 years old, so that's life and get over it..'

Anyway, its seems to be democracy when it suits you yeah...

Just remember this, the Tories are finished long term. The younger generation haven't been brainwashed by The Mail and The Sun like you have. Enjoy your evening of reading the Mail, getting angry at foreigners and people who wear rainbow laces...

The only bizarre thing is a knob like you who keeps posting bollox! So as your as simple as 123, in the UK why should a 16 year old vote when they can't buy alcohol or tobacco or in legal terms, sue or be sued, or even have a bank account in their own name. Perhaps, Corbyn will promise sweeties to the under 18's, as he promised free uni fees, and we know where that bulls hit went!

As for fat Swinson, she will want the under 18's to vote, as she sounds like a sixth former herself, and clearly out of her depth.

At least a knob like you may get to vote - if of course, you have turned 16!

So you must have been equally as disgusted when Tory Members voted for Johnson as PM. Considering Tory Member can vote for the Leader from the age of 16...

Of course you weren't. Because you're a hypocrite.

If 16-18 year olds furthered your ideology I'm sure you'd be in favour of it.

I have no particular dog in the fight regards voting age but you can only join the army at 16 if mommy, daddy or an appointed legal guardian sign the consent form to say you can. Which is a bit like being told when you can and can't go out to play. My dad wouldn't sign the papers for me to join the paras aged 16 because mom told him she'd cut his balls off in his sleep if anything happened to me in Northern Ireland. Mom was much nicer than she sounds by the way.

Not sure if it's still the case but when I eventually joined the army time served under the age of 18 didn't count against the duration of your service contract or towards your service pension either, wrongly so in my opinion. Not sure whether that was because you weren't allowed to serve on the front line or not but there you go. As an aside those serving under the age of 18 couldn't even legally buy a beer in the NAAFI bar either, even though those were on camp.

Keeping with the army theme perhaps parental consent could be introduced for those who wish to vote under the age of 18? If even a 16-18 yr old's parents don't think they're responsible enough to vote then they might not be. Although in truth a lot of parents may have served their local communities better by not spawning their snotty nosed little urban terrorists in the first place....... chemical castration: the reasons for or against - a potential topic for another time perhaps .

Can't wait for Monday evening and Stoke City away.

Don't worry, half of them would not bother to get out of bed and the other half could not form the cross to put in the box. They should put the voting age up to 21. If you aint old enough to smoke and drink, then you aint old enough to vote.

    “Pay taxes at 16”......mmm!?

Kids are now forced to stay in education until they’re 18 so the number paying tax will be minimal unless they’ve got a stellar part time job!

This is another desperate attempt by struggling party’s to bolster their vote.

Win yourselves an election and then legislate for allowing a foetus to vote.....that’s the correct procedure not this pathetic and desperate attempt to shoe horn this into the next election.

Conservatives should be putting forward a motion to allow voting by all corpses to even this out......it’s getting that pathetic!

So you're basically saying 16-18 year olds shouldn't get the vote because they'd vote against the Tories.

I guess more democracy is a bad thing for Tory Leavers.
