    St Johnstone v Aberdeen

A week tonight (f*ckin' TV), the Dons begin their latest league campaign away at St. Johnstone, who are managed by Craig Levein at the time of writing.

I fancy us to win 2-0.

Don't know exactly why I feel so positive about this season, but by the time we travel to timothy in October we will have played 7 league games and looking at the opposition in our opening 7 games I see no reason why we should not have 7 straight wins and 21 points on the board before heading to the tattie drom.
So for the opening one next week at the fermers I am going for 3-0 the good guys, Sokler, Clarkson (2)

    COYR we can do this.

Like yourself I have a high degree of potentially misplaced optimism!! We will be losing our best two strikers and haven't replaced them with anything better yet - although I am confident that Sokler will score near the 20 mark. We are still crying out for a decent winger and have to rely on Morris who has failed to deliver any time he plays against a decent team. Our defence hasn't really been tested and it'll only be a few games before Shinnie and Nilson will be suspended.
I'd love for your predictions to be the case, but I can see us losing to St J and then accumulating a whole load of draws in the following games

    Fit like pal?
Aye here we go again, I have no idea where my level of optimism has came from but for now I have it and will stand by it.
But as you say IF we lose the opener against the fermers I guess my optimism will dwindle out like a damp squib and my weekly predictions turn into 0-0 at best.
Lets hop for a positive open this season and positive start to the JT era.
Nae doot we will have our differences during the season ahead but for now lets enjoy the optimism

You foresee us getting beat by the farmers and then a rake of draas? And that’s you highly optimistic? Christ I dread you being pessimistic

Stuffy game but away win as St Johnstone are mince.
    0 - 2

No, I am optimistic that Jimmy will make us better this season, but just seen too many disappointments to not be aware that shyte couldl come our way. Particularly before Jimmy has us playing the way he wants, with his players, rather than the ones that he's inherited and have failed recently.

    Just joshing.
I hear you, I’ve no real expectations for this season either, hopefully top six but I’m more keen to see a defined pattern of play that going forward we can bring our own youth into. Seen a lot of people, correctly, saying he has to be given time especially for the reasons you list above. NGL I was pretty surprised by the level of booing at half time for his first game at Pittodrie.
