    Cashing in

Everyone on a contract which ends in the summer was never going to sign another one. Selling those already gone and bramall with cam had to and will happen. Add Odofin too.
They need the money and under the current climate of the club, supporters and management team especially, selling is the only option.
The real sticking point is one Hugebill. A fire sale due in part to his wages.
    Just another Blackstock.
    This board never learns.

I am not saying it is right, by no means. But them wanting to stay or us keeping them would have to be under a different manager and board mindset. Dial back to Warne. 4 going were brought in by him with a different culture and playing method and club atmosphere.

People on here need to wise up. It?s not the fact of they should be players we need to keep, it is more a case things are changing and THAT is what is wrong. And, not being upfront with supporters (we will challenge bull) is the polar opposite.

We had players go on a free in summers whilst keeping to stay up. People disagreed with that.

It is obvious the recruitment has been dreadful, and not just by evans. Obvious now we will not challenge. Had we challenged and gone up, we probably would have sold with bigger fees.
But, with facts laid bare?..only one thing to do. Sell.

But to do it in Jan and not before, big mistake. Because now we will not get enough replacements and what we do my even put us in the drop zone as they may be not be good enough.

We need to see things in context and lay the correct blame.

There is zero chance we'll go down. There's next-to zero chance we'll get in the play-offs. Said it before, this is a finished season and there is no point recruiting right now because we'll get poor value.

The club is comfortable to let players leave and taking a few quid where they can. As a privately owned business, they have every right to do this and don't have any obligations to inform the fans of their rationale, nor their longer term planning. I think this approach is poor, and I despise every bit of the ownership system we allow in England, but we're stuck with it and they can do as they please.

We'll do the same thing this summer as we did last - either with Evans, and a raft of largely older players, or possibly (and hopefully) with this failed effort behind us and new blood, younger players, and more thought about the future. My money would be on Evans remaining. We'll maybe have a few quid extra from the absolute nonsense centenary, but I doubt that will amount to much at all, and possibly the odd new sponsor, but otherwise I think we're pretty much deadlocked now with enough to cope in L1, and no interest in pushing to go further, so unless we get a bit of fortune in the transfer market and go on a run next season, this is our place for a bit now.

It doesn't really matter who's to blame because we've had our chance of a manager who suited the club, we had three chances to consolidate a division above, and on both fronts we opted to save a few quid rather than take a punt. I still think Warne would have stayed if he got a budget amounting to the eventual cost of Taylor's stay, and I still think the club needs to commit to an expansion and better year-on-year funding towards the training facilities... but, it's not going to happen.

    Blame is irrelevant.

Ulley, we are two injuries away from not even having a team out which could cope. Think about that one, assuming drop zone isn’t possible.

My thoughts current, is directed at those who don’t really get it and think we can hang on to these players when talking about them.
The timing of release whoever is crucial. Don’t think for a second that we can’t go down. A 20yr old raw in midfield? Does not cut it.
Evans does not like youth. It doesn’t make sense.
Two midfielders in. Neither does that.

Appreciate we're thin. We set out that way and we've not been able to fill gaps in January (opinions will vary on how hard we've tried and how many we'd ideally bring in, but again there is no obligation to share this). We're only realistically 8-10 points from safety and have 19 games to get there, in a division where we've seen some utter sh**e, it's inconceivable we can't average half a point a game, even factoring in some tough games like tomorrow's. Billy Hill have us at 200/1 to go down, if you're even remotely concerned, there's a few grand to be had for very little outlay, and you may get better odds by shopping around - I just don't think it's remotely likely we could lose another 12-plus games from here.

I'd like to see some younger players getting a chance, and this is a good time to do that (whilst there's f*** all to play for), but my concern is that they're not ours. Again though, it's irrelevant because with Evans in charge we will be dealing in older players, 1-2 year deals, and very little thought beyond the season we're in.

I agree though, Gore is a weird move, but possibly handed to him rather than him driving it.

So exactly how ?loyal? is the chairman now ??

Has it always been about himself ???

Pss poor how he now seems to give little or no thought to all the support ?????s he had from true supporters.

He dont need the money and it stinks the manner in which , despite his psss poor judgement on so may occasions has put the club where it is.

Ok new stadium but I?d have sooner been stood behind the Tovoli in less of a mess compared to where we are now.

Come on down Elon Musk 😜

Season ticket holders' attendance at home matches has been going down in increasing numbers. If we are still in the same ownership at the start of next season, there will be a massive reduction.Fans have had enough of being mislead, through empty promises and will not be returning until we have new leaders.

If our squad gets any thinner, the team sheet will be printed on rice paper

Pray we don?t get any injuries because I doubt they?ll be any more players coming through the door
