    Transfer Strategy

We need to get a scouting network that looks at more than the plainly f**king obvious.

We need a Sporting Director that will go for players without Premier League experience.

I am sick to death of the same names every f**king time, and apparently we are interested in Guehi? as if he is going to sign for us when he is pretty sure he just has to wait out a season at Palace and then replace Konate and make bags -full more because a) Liverpools wages structure and b) he?ll be moving on a free.

The club, and I include Eddie, have a fascination with Prem experience above most else.

Not all Eddie?s fault, but this window he had to be the one calling the shots given the lack of anyone else, and if we go after players that teams can afford to give somewhere between nearly double and more than double we will, and are likely to go in for them, we are always going to miss out until our wage structure can compete.

I know there is time left, and I know we will bring in players, but I am thoroughly disillusioned in the transfer window.

Last summer was bad enough making complete morons of ourselves with banging at Palace?s door time and time again, this summer so far has taken it to another level and if we try to sign Guehi and fail AGAIN then we deserve to be mocked.

Mitchell said the transfer strategy wasn?t fit for purpose, I?m inclined to agree seeing it this summer? it?s hard to defend the clubs performance and approach this summer.

Season starts in 10 days and I am hoping for the best, but given the amateur performance in the transfer market so far I?m resigned to the worst.

    Sadly spot on, Ian.

It's been an absolute shambles. It's going to massively negatively impacy our season and it didm't have to happen. A lot of this is self-inflicted.

Not to mention the fact that players like Bruno, Tonali, Tino etc. will be looking at the lack of activity and think "this club won't win another trophy acting like this" and think seriously about leaving.

Interesting points. And who knows, maybe Mitchell was a bit right in that the strategy wasnt right? So far, it seems he was spot on.

Also, like you point out, for how long is the likes of Bruno, Tonali etc, going to stay when they see that our squad hasnt improved one bit since they joined... scary thoughts.

To stretch it even further, maybe the saudis are happy with that. A bit like Ashley on steriodes.

I predicted this months ago on here !!!! Every target starts with US, and inevitably ends up at Liverpool, City, Chelsea or Manure.

I'm not sure whom to blame for all of this, but it will have, as Zipps says, a massively negative impact for this season. We've qualified for the Champions League, and now have a worse squad than when we finished the season:

    INS: ELANGA & RAMSDALE !!!!!

OUTS: KELLY, LONGSTAFF, WILSON, DUBRAVKA, LEWIS, RUDDY, HAYDEN and WHITE & CORDERO (ON LOANS).

    WHAT A F#RKING DISASTER !!!!

6 or 7 of them wouldn't have got near the 1st team while'i'd take the 2 ins over the remainibg 2 outs.

    Thats a net benefit.

PSR is designed for the PL to be feeder clubs for the big 6. Its the plan so no suprise when successful talent is bedded into the PL and gets their head turned by clubs offering wages the rest can't match.

Cherry picking talebt so success breeds more success and more worldwide connercial revenue. Kind of saves them the effort of developing ready made players.

    Totally how it was planned

The list of players fans were screaming - WHAT A F**KING DISTASTER KEEPING THIS DEADWOOD, Why is Eddie so loyal to players?

Now they've been moved on it's a disaster.

We're 3-4 signings away from an excellent window.

3 week left. Transfer deadline day clubs sign multiple players in a matter of hours.

Has it been disappointing so far? Yes. Is it over yet, no.

Ornstein has reported we're looking at multiple targets for the striker, Samu Aghehowa

Thiaw personal terms have been agreed and the clubs are negotiating, if you believe what you read.

Wissa should be done this week. 35m quid.

Paqueta & Duglas Luiz both linked, plus 2 or 3 top quality young young midfielders.

September 1st we'll see where we are

    Amen.

Keep it real Raga. Ups and downs yes but by no means terrible. I agree, we are 2 signings away from it being a good window.

However action is needed. Even Stonewall Jackson and Hoijland are being eyeballed by Munich and Milan.

If we get past last season I still say Hoijland would have been a good Wilson replacment. Cheap, hes young and there is a player there and he'd play backup until EH worked his magic

    That's actually a fair point

Pretty sure all of those would have featured on a who we need to move on list from people.

Look at all the young players getting their shot in Pre-Season due to the list of deadwood being shipped out.

We've been bemoaning the fact that we don't see the young talent getting a shot.

This summer we've seen a good group of the youngsters have a shot at staking their claim at being in and round the first team for the cup matches etc.

That being said. If we don't bring in what we need by the time the window closes, I'll be fuming.

NOT QUITE CAPS LOCK FUMING BUT FUMING NONE THE LESS.
