The Pet Peeve series - pt.2 - Modern Wa*k Phrases and terminology

The very amusing Pet Peeve thread really did expose us all as a bunch of miserable grumpy old bar stewards!

One of the more prevalent Peeves is the nonsense language recently that has crept into the game and life in general.

Here is an opportunity to vent about such Peevage.

Low block - We already had sitting deep, shutting up shop and Mourinho's Parking of the bus.

High Ceiling - What is he a 15th century f**king Saxon cloister? Potential, FFS.

It?s football not a database - the only goals that matter are the ones that count

Please feel free to let loose!

I had a moment of rage, which peaked and subsided rapidly now that I'm a grown up (loosest possible example or one)

20 yrs ago someone would have got some serious misplaced transferred rage haha

Every goal from outside the box being "a goal of the season contender".

Yes, there are some absolute beauts but there is some ****e as well - yet without fail, outside the box it's "goal of the season contender"

    Lol yeah.

In general the over exuberance of the commentators when gushing of the cartel players and indifference over the same skills, goals, passes etc from Newcastle or 'other 14' team players.

When you list the team, start with the GK then the defenders, followed by the midfield and finally; the attackers. It?s not that f*cking difficult surely?

That club output with just a list of players, not even in numeric shirt order, leaving us to figure out who is playing where.

    So annoying!

It's even more ridiculous when the lineup is posted on the X - NUFC page first, when the BBC get round to bothering to post the NUFC lineup, it takes around another 10-15 mins before the formation is set up. Often these clowns get it wrong.

When Miley was playing at RB, they didn't have a clue because, ya know, why would you pay any attention to a non-cartel club?

Utmost disrespect from the media and majority of fans to any player that are not in world class bracket.

I read somewhere couple of years ago after Osasuna beat Barcelona “bunch of nonames outplayed Barca!”
Nonames my ar5e, those are mostly international players at the very top of the sport.

Or another one recently on Wolte + Wissa costing roughly as much as Rat’s fee - “Newcastle sold Lamborghini and bought 2 (some shltty cars)

    Ok, ok...I'll play

    'In this moment'...from managers/coaches.

It's AT the minute or AT the moment. Not IN, you inarticulate ****s.
