Please make yourself known if you think anything other than relegation?
Relegation is not a certainty. The way things are, 2 uppermost of the 4 will always be just 2 wins away. Dreadful division.
So there is always hope, but injuries may get in the way.
Win tomorrow, we have a chance. Lose tomorrow, we're done.
Bradford away, Plymouth (in form) at home, look like very tough games. Mansfield is only winnable if we're fighting. Huddersfield and Bolton will be very hard to take anything from. If we're not giving 100%, if we're plodding on with an interim manager, if we're juggling minor strains, these next few games which come Saturday/Tuesday with little rest, will see us too far adrift. If we win tomorrow there's hope.
I find it slightly worrying that Rafferty and Hamshaw both seem to point at fans as a problem in their interviews. "Cat and mouse" with who lifts who, according to Rafferty. I think it'll get pretty toxic if they don't take the game to Donny tomorrow.
I'll stand by this. We're done. Too many difficult games, and if we couldn't get fired up to stick it to Donny after leading at half time, we'll not find that fire in a library against Plymouth or do anything when we're at the likes of Lincoln (especially with the last game in their heads).
Some away days I've not done for a while next season, and the possibility of being competitive for the first time since going to Gillingham... every cloud....
I said at the time we beat Gillingham that investment was needed, because behind Warne improving us there was an element of luck in us being able to bounce back up each year... that was never going to be a permanent thing, whereas investment could've allowed us to consolidate as a low end Championship team. Gone now, and we're light years from it, so I'll look forward to Tranmere and Oldham for a bit and hope we can be a top half team.
Plenty of hope , they wont go down . They have 16 games left , not 2 .. it will be close., but they will do it , starting tomorrow,
10 of those 16 are against teams in the top half, and 2 more who realistically won't have written off the play-offs just yet. That's three quarters of our games against teams trying to go up. The average points per game, and weird bunching up of teams means the points total to stay safe this year will be higher than normal, possibly over 50 points. It's a tall order.
Only if the elephant in the room gets addressed.
