    This site

Although Im not a prolific poster I read the various contributions regularly & generally admire the way in which they are conducted.I recently had the temerity to suggest on another site that our current brand of football was the worst Ive witnessed in many a year. This was met with continued verbal abuse & an encouragement to F off if I didnt support the Toon. This was also the response when I dared to suggest that those taking up the FCB's freebie offers were not true supporters.Anyway, keep up the good work guys & for my part I will try to become more active on this site with hopefully constructive comments.
All the best for the forthcoming festive period.

Sounds like the type of site containing fans that Ashley loves.Which is why the ground is dead of any atmosphere and why Ashley is going nowhere. The "real" fans are leaving in droves and a lot have left years ago.
I wonder how many people have these views, and how many would stand in a pub full of supporters that have decided to stop going and air these views. My view is,not one of them would.
I know lads a lot older than me that have given up tickets.Lads with 40,50,60 years of support.Sad times.

    Which site was it?

    Please keep posting on here!

I went on the Newcastle supporters in Brazil twitter site the other week. I suggested that Joelinton was sh*te. I was given short shrift and was promised that he would come good (I think a bit of national pride was getting in the way there!)

Aye. I suspect (paranoid) Ashley has an army of elves manning these sites "steering" opinion.

Wouldn''t put it past him and it would be a lot cheaper than buying a decent striker.

Could even be one on here.

    Not paranoid...am I?

    Am I?

I know they really are out to get me.

    They are Sclox. . .

It wouldn't surprise me in this day and age if there was an online campaign to support him, bought and paid for by the club - IT services or something bland on the bill.

Considering how many companies do it on things like amazon etc. it wouldn't at all surprise me to see sports clubs doing likewise.

I'm very fond of this site. I was gutted when it looked like it was a gonner a few years back (around this time of year) and it was almost impossible to post or read. We lost quite a few posters but a few of us stuck around and persevered until it began working properly again. it's nothing like its heyday-either when i joined or in the few years before when here were loads of posters but that doesn't really matter. The folk who post here make it great place to post and while away a bit of time talking about the team we love and a few other random things. Be nice if we got the numbers back but i think it reflects the way things are with the club as much as anything else.

When this site was virtually unusable i joined a couple of other sites just in case this one went down for good. There was one-Utd101 or something where P'boro used to post (and i'm sure Scott Kirkland from here was on there too) but it was pretty small; NewxastleOnline is a much bigger site and a canny place although, conversely, they were hugely anti anyone who said anything good about going to the games and anyone who did attend was/is given a hard time.

I find our site more balanced and more tolerant of different views with a good level of humour and folk who get on. (yes, I know Ghost gets a lot of stick but he doesn't throw abuse about and is entitled to his view, whatever perspective it comes from).

So, aye...it would be great if you posted more-if we all did, in fact, but that's not a request or admonishment to people who don't start threads or contribute much...we all have our own posting style and some have more time than others to create posts, etc and there's no pressure on anyone to do anything. (as it goes, I came on to post a thread based on something i heard on 5Live so i'll go and do that).

in the early days of the interweb when this site was ran with the iron fist of Dan and WP it was lighthearted and good natured and even with differences of opinion there was a friendly banter - sometime between then and now we've turned into footymad's equivalent of eastenders
