My worry is Ashley will try and sneak in long term Sports Direct advertising at SJP as part of the deal, and that will put of potential buyers who would probably have their own ideas about who the main sponsor should be.

    not me im afraid
    but i was being serious

this could be a self funding purchase
witha few buisness men only guarantors

you are guaranteed a return for the next few years from sky money alone
any bank would lend against this

then he wants that payment in installments

so the rest of the clubs income could fund players and the running of the club
    how about this
would you as a match going fan be prepared to pay an extra £8 per ticket to owna part of the club
that alone would generate roughly 400k per week enough to buy players going forward

imagine the increase in shirt sales per season
imagine the increase from the shop
imagine the increase in local advertising
take the 5-8 mill we could replace from mikes sports direct advertising (if he doesnt make the new owner keep it )but he is desperate so im not to sure he would want to keep it

i reckon there is at leats another 9-15 mill there so 20 odd million

if the geordie nation ever had realistic dreams of owning their club there is no better chance than now

    lets see who steps up

to me it will be a right royal laugh if at least one interested party doesnt step up from the north east

the geordies wont do it mate
as much as they spout of about the club many forget it was only 15-20 plus years they could only muster up 18-20 k per game

they tried when all the boycott ****e was going on and some bloke with less than 24 mill was pushed forward

look at shearer stingg a couple of other big people form the toon all with connections and money

    none have never stepped forward
shearers the one that gets my goat
he must know so many people yet has never once fronted a serious purchase of the club

if i had the chance to purchase my home town club knowing i have a cast iron guarantee of an income to cover the purchase price i would be on the club steps in the morning

but i guarantee they just roll over and some chinese or arabs will come in and plaster their advertising all over the ground

    change the stadium name
could even change the colour of the stripes

others have sold their souls for premiership survival

    we will be the same

BTW - not that i particularly want chinese buyers or anything

did anyone see that the president/leader of China (whatever he is) placed a ban on chinese buying overseas sports clubs in august.

so if there had been interest from the chinese that was scuppered then anyway.

however there is something happening next week - in china - when that ban could maybe be lifted.
