We could use a Wootton clone.

I must say, the recruitment has definitely improved since the new owners arrived. Football Radar appears to be doing a good job for us!

As others have said, another CM should be top of the shopping list, one that fits the ‘playmaker’ tag.
I would also be tempted with another forward, a big target man in the Matt Rhead mould, so we can have more options tactically. We have good forwards but not ones that would allow us to change the way we play.

I understand we have a bit of a weakness in the centre midfield positions, but for me Kyle Wootton is the player we don't have anything approaching a like-for-like replacement. Any of the other three forwards could play off him, but none of them could replace him. I think that the current squad has some credible options in centre midfield, but nobody who can replace a target man who not only offers a target and brings others into play, but also scores goals.

I'd assume that a significant part of the owners' business plan will be buying cheap and selling high, as Brentford have done. If they see a player available at the right price that they think they can make a profit on in the future, they'll be likely to sign them, whether they're actually needed at the minute or not.

We could do with a proper winger. Someone who stays wide and can pass his man. Other teams seem to have them and they cause us trouble. We seem to play too narrow at times always cutting into a congested middle of the park.

Would love backup for Wootton as Elite says we have nobody in the squad who can do that job.

I would make it a loan, as the backup striker would be just that , if Wootton doesn't getting injured then game time will be minimal. Very difficult to find a quality replacement who probably isn't going to play much unless injury. Possibly an older experienced forward who is without a club or not getting game time wouldn't mind. Otherwise, it's cheap young and inexperienced

I think we recently looked down the back of the sofa and found we already had two of those in Enzio and Ozzy, then decided to use them as such.

I'd send Shields back and get another winger in. CM to cover O'Brien and possibly a young LB as Bakayogo is finished.

I Said winger not wide midfielders. None of our players are out and out wingers.
