More FAKE NEWS from one of our resident FAKE NEWS merchants.

Here is the recent UK 7 day rolling average of "Deaths within 28 days of positive test by date of death", taken from the GOV.UK website.

    Oct 27th...262.6
    Oct 28th...272.9
    Oct 29th...279.9
    Oct 30th...282.0
    Oct 31st...284.6
    Nov 1st....277.0

The figures are rising, of course they are, the number of deaths from respiratory infections rises every autumn and into winter. On the latest figures, the rate of increase, far from being rapid, seems to have stalled. No doubt the rate will soon rise steadily again, but if the above is a rapid increase, then I'm a fecking pineapple.

What are you actually trying to say.
All I’m saying is the stats show a rise in case numbers and deaths in recent weeks - are you saying there isn’t? That seems BTs position. I think he’s had it!

No I'm not nitpicking OC, I'm simply pointing out that your statement was wrong, it was FAKE NEWS and I've explained why, more than once now actually. It really shouldn't be too difficult to grasp why the two sets of stats are different, but they are both factual, it is clearly stated precisely what both refer to, and they are not open to any sort of interpretation, unless you want to mislead of course. If you really cannot grasp the difference between them then we'll just have to live with that, I'm not wasting my time explaining it again.

I'm not trying to say anything more than that your statement about the number of deaths on that day was incorrect, as you have acknowledged, end of story for me. As for whether cases and deaths are rising, why would I say they aren't when they clearly are, and as I've pointed out numerous times over the last few months, always were going to rise in autumn, lockdown or no lockdown. Check out what I said on Post 431.

    Fake news?

Below is the Gov.uk data for the last 7 days (updated today)

It shows that there were 2246 deaths in the last 7 days (up 588 from last week).

The 7 day rolling average is 321. That is using YOUR source, Gov.uk.

For some reason you quoted the figures up to November 1st. I wonder why.....?

    I demand a public apology

Sounds like nitpicking to me Sinkov, we’re going round in circles boring everyone else. Time to give up, we’ll never agree on this. I acknowledge your perspective. End of!

One thing I do know for certain, my football team are safe from the corona virus, they never get on the end of anything.

There’s nothing to get on the end of either. No incisive thru balls poor crosses. 1 shot on target. 3 off. Need for a rethink in international lockdown

[Looking at France which is two weeks ahead of us may inject a dose of realism as Boris has nothing to with them

    Daily cases rising fast
    Attachment 17382

Active Cases (being treated) is growing rapidly
    Attachment 17380

    Deaths also growing

You say the figures are rising rapidly 59, the GOV.UK figures show they are not.

The reason I have only quoted up to Nov 1st is because the figures for 'Deaths By Date of Death' take a few days to be collated, and so there is a time lag before they can be considered accurate, OC has already pointed this out, I thought you would have been aware of it as well. Worry not, there is no hiding place, I will revisit the figures again, I check them every day, and if there is a rapid increase it will become evident, at the moment the figures don't show it. Watch this space mon ami.
