I'm interested UTM out of that list who do you think would have the best chance to get us up? It's got to be Hardy cos as you say he wouldn't spend as much as the incoming inevitable financial disaster (Hardy, Trew, Scardino) would have been delayed a couple of seasons. Before Pop!!!

Here's another question what if Hardy (however unlikely) hadn't sold the club and we went into NL with him in charge and he was still the owner now. How much worse do you think it would be?

I would predict certificate 18 stuff, an absolute horror show#shudder.
Even Dunnett reached the point of having to arrange a crisis meeting where he basically passed the bucket around for spare change. You just have to hope owners do enough to attract better owners when they're ready to throw the towel in.

Another thing that crossed my mind.
On Saturday 6th September 2003 Notts played Luton Town with 7,505 turning up for what they feared might be the club's very last game at Meadow Lane under the threat of expulsion from the Football League.
That very same day, the newly formed Combined Counties League Premier Division phoenix club AFC Wimbledon were playing away at Westfield in the FA Vase. The original Wimbledon would become MK Dons at the end of that season. Today AFC Wimbledon are two levels above Notts having just returned to their home on Plough Lane, where they meet Sheffield Wednesday in the next home game.
Had Notts gone under in 2003, where would we be today? Would we be as high as AFC Wimbledon or even higher?
Again, it's a question that cannot be answered, but it makes you wonder.

A team that is so mentally weak when the pressure is on will never achieve success, being easy on the eye is all well and good but how many saves are opposition keepers having to make? To bang on about how good we were for 70 minutes but couldn't capitalise upon it is not something to be particularly pleased about, quite the opposite, the opposition will be happy for that to happen knowing that we will crumble once we concede.
The worst thing about this is that we can all see where the problems are and have been for the last two seasons but they're still not addressed, leaving us with a team who don't know how to fight to win and I certainly wouldn't buy another season ticket next season to watch this failing experiment with "pure football", no reason not to have both sides of the game open to us.
The frustrating thing I am finding is that we're really not the fast, footballing, attack-minded team that we're being told we are. For the most part, I think our play is lethargic and frankly, pedestrian. How many saves do opposition goalkeepers ever need to make? The reality is, so far this season, in the matches i've seen we've created very few goalscoring opportunities. What happened to all the talk of being brave?

When Moniz was in charge, we played fast, attacking football and created hat fulls of chances, it was just the forwards were dog poop and couldn't hit a cows backside with a banjo (what was the little ginger lad called - Adam someone?). I actually feel we have some good finishers now, but just don't create decent chances for them.

Finally, for what it's worth, I actually thought we played better yesterday (until they scored!) than we had done in the previous home games and had we got the second goal, it would have been an easy 3pts. The inability and lack of desire to go for the jugular will continue to cost us, as we are clearly incapable of confidently holding out 1 goal advantages.

Perhaps we all need to realise that we are not an attractive deal for a new owner (God knows why not though?). Lets be honest, since Jack Dunnett the only thing we have attracted is the Munto scam!
Perhaps someone could explain why we can't attract a billionaire owner with honest intentions? (No disrespect to some previous, well intentioned owners).

I think the reason we struggle to attract the sort of owners that do well at other clubs can be explained with one word. Begins in F, ends in T.

Just had chance to read right through this thread.
Depressing isn't a strong enough word.

We're all Notts County fans through and through. We should be used to it!!

Don't worry so much lads....It will get better.. I.B (bless him) says so!

I'm not losing interest quite yet...

If the club were to do just one single thing to the solve the playing problems at the moment, I would say it was provide IB with an actual right wing-back so that we can play more to the strengths of the squad (good choice of CBs to play in a 3, poor midfield choices so play 2 in there with Ruben in a free role)

It's shockingly poor to me, recruitment sent IB to a knife fight carrying a small stick. They knew the 1st choice formation but didn't provide viable options for this key role.

But shouldn't that be an incentive? What a buzz footballing Nottm had when we played competitive derbies.

Don't agree that there are individual"things" we need to do to "kickstart".

We do (as a team) need much more aggression....The talk about being "big and ugly" in this league is very appropriate,
    to my way of thinking.

I'm just trying to think back home many 'losing interest' threads or similar have we had over all my years on NCM in times of struggle. Must be dozens.

If you want to quit, you don't need to announce it, tell people you are considering no longer supporting the club, don't care anymore, rather spend time shopping on a Saturday etc. Just do it, nobody forces anyone to go or not go to games.

Doesn't he just deal with the administrative side of things?
