Not sure if my calculations are correct but today was our 46th League game under IB. ( 50% win ratio)
Obviously spread over 2 seasons but wanted to know if anyone knows how that compares with what would normally get a team promoted out of this league?
Ok. Thanks for that. didn't realise the home and away overall was so close between the 2
It's 46 matches in charge now for Burch including the two play off games.
Today's win takes Burch back above Ardley overall on PPG
Averages (including play offs but not cups).....
Neal Ardley 1.70 (W 47% D 29% L 24%) GPG 1.52 APG 0.95
Ian Burchnall 1.72 (W 50% D 22% L 28%) GPG 1.80 APG 1.20
Totals (including play off but not cups).....
Ardley - Pld:66 W:31 D:19 L:16 F:100 A:63 GD:+37 pts:112
Burch - Pld:46 W:23 D:10 L:13 F:83 A:55 GD:+28 pts:79
Including cups Burch has had 54 games in charge and Ardley would then be ahead having won more FA trophy ties
Neal Ardley 1.79
Ian Burchnall 1.74
Forgot to mention the above is all 5th tier seasons only.
If you include Ardley's 4th tier results his stats go right down, but to compare like for like we have to compare 5th tier results only.
Edit: For the record
Ardley's overall league PPG (including Play offs AND 4th tier results) is 1.49, with cups it's 1.57

So nothing to choose between the two of them really on paper. We now play more attacking football score more and let more in. We are still poor away from home a lot. We are still only good enough to get in the play offs. Whilst it was time for Ardley to go on that basis the upgrade is very much a work in progress.
I'd also argue the profile of the squad has changed as well. Ardley's first season had a very experienced football league set up in Wootton, Dennis, Thomas and Tyson supported by Enzio.
Now we have a lot younger less experienced players but potentially better forwards for the future but perhaps not quite yet
Add to that the money being spent by Wrexham, Chesterfield and Stockport the league is much stronger this season.
