Looks like Regan Booty made a comment, got a load of backlash on social media about his weight and being injury prone and has now deleted it. The issue came because Roberts publicly liked it on twitter. I wonder whether Cameron had a word as he is quite active on social media himself to calm things down or Booty deleted it because of the abuse he was getting, who knows

Ok sorry if I'm getting all Roy Keane about this but I find it worrying that our players are behaving like moody ****agers, sending passive aggressive messages on social media.

I don't care about Twitter, and I don't care about Regan Booty, but I do care that some of our players are out on the town too much and seem to be mentally more similar to Big Brother contestants rather than serial winners of games of football.

But no player is bigger than this club.
Cal Roberts,in the right frame of mind firing on all cylinders could possibly be the difference between promotion or failure.
He and a group of players are regulars on what you could say the pub scene.
I personally would say concentrate more on what pays your bills rather than pishing it up the wall..
Yes we have all been young and spent many nights out when we perhaps shouldn’t of,but this guy has a good future in football.
So get ya **** in nut down, and get back on ya footie son.
In a roundabout way I was implying that no player is bigger than the club. The club just won 3-0 away at what many rightly considered a tricky away fixture. What's happening with a player who didn't start, and hasn't started recently during the 4 unbeaten isn't a big issue for me.

Footballers drinking on a Saturday night in the city centre is a story as old as time. I used to drink in the same bars as many a Notts and Forest player.

Agree if he wants to put socialising ahead of football than he's a fool IMO but I have no idea whether he's doing that. Lots of rumour and innuendo, as IB perfectly put England C or no England C any player not in the starting XI has to work hard to get in there. Ask E Sam Me Lord for example.

    Absolutely.

Cal Roberts is a young lad who may have more intelligence in his feet than in his head. He may or may not have got a bit carried away with the hype and transfer talk that surrounds young players who show promise. He may or may not be temporarily upset with the coach because he's not currently in the team. These things happen. Let's remember most of the social media material being discussed this morning was NOT posted by Cal Roberts, whose two significant contributions yesterday were posts congratulating his teammate Ruben Rodrigues.

I think back to the days of Gazza. Some relatively young, talented footballers don't come from backgrounds that equip them with the emotional intelligence and maturity to handle being the focus of growing attention. They make mistakes, but it doesn't mean they need to be savaged by supporters on social media, many of whom don't display any more maturity or intelligence themselves. I'm sure IB will deal appropriately with anything Cal has done wrong, but it's no reason to be writing off a young player who - with the right guidance - can continue to be a real asset to this club and go on to have a successful career.

An excellent post Jackal. From what I read yesterday, any comments made by Cal Roberts were of a positive nature.
I do hope that all posters on this and any other threads do not give this gossip any oxygen, but continue to support our player and encourage him to aid our promotion push.

You just beat me to it Cheltenham

We win 3-0 away from home, and all the noise on here is regarding rumours.

I think I'll put my energy behind supporting the team to have the best chance of getting promoted, and celebrating a well fought win.

    Well done lads

I'd hope for that too Cheltenham Pie but you've been around long enough to know that's very unlikely in the cesspit#viva.

Too many love the melodrama, love to make assumptions. As long as they use the words "if" or "may" then you can guess and post whatever you like about a situation we know so little about.

We win yesterday on the road, are surprisingly clinical and keep a clean sheet and some folk will want to talk more about Cal Roberts than the match.

The talk should be about our hat trick hero. We don't often have those.

All signing off the same hymn sheet. That Mace character will be disappointed, not fitting his moronic label at all#PVO
