There probably wasn't a team last season that matched our midfield in the ammount of work that did, crosses into the box or chances created. 2 of the midfielders have been subject to million pound plus offers from bigger clubs and the club has been able to turn them down.
The players that we have brought in seem to have some experience of lplaying in the Championship which is something that we've lacked for years thus probably the reason why we've been unable to stay there.
Buy, signing players who can compete mentally at the Championship level as well as physically is a must if we want to take that step further.

The other teams that you have mentioned are in league one still, we got out of there at the right time because I don't think that we'd be as competitive there this season.
But we are now in the Championship & you think we wouldn’t be competitive in Lge1 god help us then frog.

Huddersfield Town - The club have given squad numbers out for the coming season.

Bad news for Millers fans - Rarmani Edmonds Green [REG] given shirt number 23 in the squad.

So any hope of hope of the player returning on a season-long-loan has gone, so to get the player
the Millers would have to put a sizeable bid in, which I can't see the club doing.

I think that League one will be closer than it's ever been. The money we spend compared to Ipswich, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton, Derby as well as others would make it too difficult for us. The difficulties in getting players in whilst we're in the Championship is not a good sign when our budget is much higher makes probable that it would be harder in league one.

I truly believe that we have a better chance of survival in the Championship this season than we would have had at getting promotion from league one.

REG was unlikely to come back. He has a very good chance of a place in their team - last year it was taken by Colwill on loan from Chelsea - so why give up that starting place at a team at the top end of the league for one at the bottom. And he was interviewed at their play off game and said he was going nowhere.

They’ve got to give him a number even if he goes out on loan

When we look at Rotherham United & a budget for the coming season, against other clubs in the league.
Reading Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom comments regarding his budget with club, saying
he has to be careful on money spent.
Where has last week I read the Blades got £91m when they got relegated from the premiership, plus now
    on parachute payments.
If the Blades are having budget problems, God help clubs such has Rotherham United.

But what if he was not in the main squad MT, would he have a squad number, but can still go out on loan.

Plus look at Grant Hall at Middlesbrough, he has not got a squad number.

I would think only players that will be active in a clubs team, would have a squad number, when it comes down to
naming official playing squad for the season.

Well we have given out squad numbers to all players including those that it was rumoured could go out on loan e.g. Bola, Kayode, Kelly. Interestingly we don't have a No 7 or a No 10 yet.

    Seems a reasonable assumption Frog.
Finishing 21st in the Championship would be far from "doomed" and , as you say, could well be easier than finishing 2nd in League 1.
