Me and the old man were praising his performance (and tbf only his) throughout the game even when we were twice behind. He stood out head and shoulders above the rest in black and white.

It was a 9/10 maybe 9.5/10 performance for me but to do it at Wembley, in a final, in such a huge game adds another 0.5 onto his mark.

It won't be forgotten about me any time soon, and when he next gives the ball away and it results in a goal next seaso , I'm just going to remind myself that without that performance I'm back watching them at Wealdstone or Maidenhead.

He clearly was absolutely nowhere near match fit when we got him and I get the argument it was a risk playing him not match fit at such a crucial time in the season. We will never know if it cost us points but we will always know he dragged us back up and almost single handedly.

No doubt he wasn’t match fit when he joined us but I wonder if playing at a higher level will bring his quality out even more next year….he may look so casual at times because he finds it too easy in the NL?
