Wars are generally fought by ordinary folks (mainly men) who don't want to kill other ordinary folk but are compelled to do so by jingoistic politicians or religious leaders who are following their own agenda. The only losers in war are ordinary people, those who cause the wars in most cases are unaffected by them though I acknowledge Hitler and Mussolini didn't fare well. It's all about cannon fodder, the masses are expendable. especially if you have an almost unlimited supply like China or Russia. From a planetary perspective, the big carbon footprint aside, wars are good for winnowing the population, alongside Covid and other global disasters. The bottom line is that war is good for the planet although not for human kind. I'm waffling again, time for some more Leonard Cohen, Closing Time, the Johnny Walker wisdom's running high.

"Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to make sure every child in England learns about the Holocaust by making it a mandatory topic in schools.

As part of the Government’s curriculum review, the Prime Minister said studying the Holocaust would become a “critical, ***** part of every single student’s identity”.

Pity he can't get so worked up about the current genocide acting out in Palestine.

I see the Israelis have put one over on the rag heads again, with the pagers.

You can't help but admire them

Even an imaginative Spielberg film script would not come up with this one ballcock.

More indiscriminate murder by the Jews which has to be a clear breach of Geneva Convention rules on indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations.

More fun and games today. You have really got to hand it to the Israelis, they're one step ahead of the rag head terrorist

Pity they weren't as tuned in last October though
