    Out of the champions league.

Der Kaiser could be looking for a new job if he doesn't smarten up his act. He can't hack it against the top sides, he hasn't got the tactical nous

There are some very good teams in this season's Champions League ballcock. Even Los Blancos are out.

Spurs will have to make some financial cuts if they don't win the europa league (winners qualify for CL) They also lose on merit money for finishing low down to the tune of around 30 million. They also have the loan on the new stadium to payoff

The next manager will have to sell before he can buy players to meet the premier league financial rules

Levy might think twice about having to pay us 10 million compensation, especially if they don't will the European comp

And some fans of Burnley Football Club think that Alan Pace has put us into catastrophic debt.

It's only the likes of City and Newcastle who are cash buyers. The rest of the takeovers are via loans from financial institutions with the clubs assets (ie Turf) as security

The Financial Statements for July 2025 will make interesting reading after all the activity last summer. The Burnley Express reckoned that we brought in ?87.7 million in player sales. That may or may not include the comp for Der Kaiser.

Debt stood at ?92 million. The net loss (hopefully after EBITDA) was ?29 million even after being in the PL for the year.

It will be a major achievement if the debt has come down significantly bearing in mind the reduced revenue in the Championship.

We will see how well ALK has been able to manage the finances this season.

Won 4 drawn 1 in last five and 8 points clear at top of league ballcock - we didn?t have the talent to play his way and his stubbornness punished us - however I?m not sure we can criticise his efforts in Germany just yet.

It is the level of borrowing and the interest being charged that worry me Swiss.
