I can see him feeding AJ but Traore needs to learn how to play in L2, he's far too easily knocked off balance. Hopefully to be proved wrong but I don't think MT has the physicality to be a threat.

According to some of the posts on the Carlisle board, he also has a bit of "edge" to his game and goes in for a bit of shlthousery, so maybe lessons are being learnt at last

He needs to do what Abbott spoke about doing at the start of the season, learning how to roll off players and he adapted pretty quickly, doesn?t matter if he?s not that big.

Watched Carlisle a few times last season as was rooting for them to stay up... was quite impressed by Dennis... his hold up play was decent but he was a complete battering ram in one of the games...he seems to mix it up from game to game which is what we need, a bit of sh@thousery too which i really liked, still very young so has lots of time on his side... A promotion team in our division usually has a player who is good at the dark arts... Mullen at Wrexham, Bogle at Wimbledon...we just might have our game changer.

?Importantly, he has very strong natural attributes in terms of his pace, power and stature ? and he had a really strong grounding as a young player in two top academies.

?Matthew hasn?t always been deployed as an out-and-out striker and we definitely feel he can cover various attacking positions within our system.

?He?s very comfortable dropping into midfield to link the play, has the skill and intelligence to operate in tight situations and possesses the physical capabilities to carry the ball forwards with purpose from deeper positions.

?Signing as a free agent, we believe he represents excellent value and we?re delighted to have beaten a number of other clubs, including some from higher divisions, to his signature.?
Some of the wording in the statement is really positive particularly regarding the pace, power and stature part. If Dennis can bring some of that in attack and midfield along with goals then this will bode well going forward.

The cautious side of me wonders why MK Dons cancelled Matthew Dennis' contract as recently as February if he's that good, but it wouldn't be the first time a club has underestimated the talent right under their nose. His goals return for a struggling Carlisle team certainly looks promising. Let's wait and see if we've unearthed a rough diamond...

I think MT has found adjusting to L2 life quite difficult.
I hope that a full pre season will help with this. A change of HC might help also.

MT was always signed for next season. Much like Jatta was. If we get 10 goals out of MT I think it will be a successful signing.

Coming out of a disappointing season of a failed promotion challenge, we bolster our forward line with a player with the last name Dennis... Which one of the brothers will get their chap out on twitter arguing with a fan do you think? 😂

Welcome to the lad, the type that offers something a bit different up top very quick likes to get in behind can see him doing well here if he gets the regular service. Looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.
