Role of the Board of Directors
"The Board of Directors is collectively responsible for the exercise of the powers and the performance of the NHS Foundation Trust. Its role is to provide active leadership of the Trust within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enables risk to be assessed and managed."
Just in case you're wondering that's from the website of Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and they seem to be claiming responsibility for the performance of the Trust and risk assessment and risk management. So maybe you should be asking which of these is responsible for the death of the 46 year old male doctor ?
Fiona Noden – Chief Executive
Andy Ennis MSc, RGN, RSCN – Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive
Annette Walker – Director of Finance
Francis Andrews – Medical Director
James Mawrey – Director of Workforce
Sharon Martin – Director of Strategic Transformation
Marie Forshaw, Acting Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals
Non Executive Directors
Donna Hall – Chair
Dr Malcolm Brown
Bilkis Ismail
Jackie Njoroge
Martin North
Alan Stuttard
Andrew Thornton
So which one would it be BT, which one is responsible for the safety and well being of their front line staff, which one is responsible for ensuring they have adequate PPE ? There are enough of them, one of them must be responsible surely, if not what on earth do they do to justify their massive salaries, generous expenses and gold-plated pensions ? Or maybe none of them has that responsibility, maybe they're all just too busy to concern themselves with the welfare of their employees and they leave it all to the Secretary of State for Health in London to do it for them ? Is that what it is ? Maybe, besides ordering PPE for them Matt Hancock also has to order arse-wipes for them as well, maybe he also has to travel up to Bolton to wipe their arses for them, maybe he should travel up to Bolton to kick their arses for them, that might inspire them to do the job they're well paid to do and which they say they're responsible for, assessing and managing risks. Maybe one or two should consider resigning, but they won't, it's much easier to keep sitting in their shiny-arsed suits, raking the money in and blame one man in London 250 miles away.
