Our first family car was a Vauxhall Viva and later on Dad 'graduated' to a Cavalier. I must admit to erring towards a Chevette as my first car before opting for a Ford Escort but later in life did have a MK II Astra (the rounded version) and in an emergency once bought a Carlton at auction which served it's purpose for about a year.

What's your experience with them, or in fact any other make/model of what could be considered a 'classic' car. Mrs CA had a lime green Allegro when I met her
