    My first ever car was a J reg Viva estate from the garage in Dalton which I paid 695 quid for in '74. It was a a bag of shyte and a rust bucket and I vowed never to buy another Vauxhall and never did. I also did some work at the Vauxhall plant in Luton and seeing the final inspection guys levering the doors into position with a lump of 4x2 reinforced my decision lol.

    695 for a 3 year old car. Those were the days. I remember there was always excitement as a kid to see the first new 'letter' car when they came out. Think I paid 600 for a 7 year old P reg Escort MK2 in 1983.
