Regarding the hospital cases, they is usually a 3-4 week delay between cases rising and a rise in hospitalisations. There probably will be an increase in the amount of people being admitted to hospital in early January.

Hopefully this mini lockdown, along with schools being closed for two weeks (which is the big thing) will keep cases steady and not rising too much, which should mean that the increase in hospital cases in January doesn't peak too high and we can get back to normal(ish) asap
