Yes. Wonder where the results were posted? Was part of the response the Open Letter? Might be worthwhile getting Dee4Life to ask their membership for their views. Democracy is just a simple way of making decisions. It does not give any intellectual support for the validity of a decision and people can quite easily democratically make the wrong decision.
