Players can become heroes to many and it's hard to continually watch them leave.

Sustainability is not solely financial, the calibre of playing staff in order to 'sustain' our status on the next rung of the ladder is crucial as well so selling players who would be competent at a higher level is surely, counter intuitive? If we sold Jatta for a million and missed out on promotion, how would that balance out in the long run against what would be higher gates, probably more tv money and more sponsorship?
Have to disagree somewhat. Promotion will obviously help sustain the crowd growth - not least due to higher away followings, but our crowds were increasing year on year, COVID times apart, not just in the promotion season. One reason they’re growing is the revolving door - the one that is continually bringing in bright, young (mostly) talent that’s improving what’s happening on the pitch. The disappointment of losing favourite players is tempered by excitement in the new players we’re signing and who’s the next gem. We faltered a bit after promotion because we didn’t strengthen defensively - now resolved. Personally I don’t think Jatta will leave now unless someone gets silly with the money, if he continues as he is then he will probably go in the summer but I expect us to adequately replace him and keep moving onwards and upwards.
Also we must remember that promotion to a higher league comes with greater cost as well as greater revenues - I trust the current ownership to maintain a sustainable cost base too - I.e. not pay stupid wages to attract new players in order to chase the dream.
