I can?’t fathom as to why some folk seemingly have got there knickers in a twist over a rumour.
In an age where misinformation is rife some on here have lapped up rumours as reality. Whether it?’s Jatta leaving, recruiting babies in nappies or the Saunders scenario over the past week, the reaction of some has been mind boggling.
Notts on the face of it are a brilliantly run club. Certainly not a selling club that some will have us believe. Their are countless rumours of star players being sold, yet the reality is that we cashed in when necessary (Macca and DC wanted to leave) and in some cases didn?’t cash in at all (Woots n Ruben).
If and for me it?’s a big IF Jatta is sold, it will be because the club got a price that is more than they think he?’s worth at this stage.
I don?’t think he?’ll be sold and recent history supports this.. Macca last Jan, Ruben the Jan before and Woots the Jan prior?… all star players, all rumoured to be sold?… none left in January.

Our crowds have grown on the back of the incredible season we had in the National League and the euphoria of Wembley, some young fans have ridden the crest of that wave and crave more of the same. Surely, many of those fans will tire, if they haven't already, of the eternal, revolving door which sees our best players sold after what is often, fairly short service. Players can become heroes to many and it's hard to continually watch them leave.
Sustainability is not solely financial, the calibre of playing staff in order to 'sustain' our status on the next rung of the ladder is crucial as well so selling players who would be competent at a higher level is surely, counter intuitive? If we sold Jatta for a million and missed out on promotion, how would that balance out in the long run against what would be higher gates, probably more tv money and more sponsorship?

I agree, as I said in a previous post the fees get ridiculous in Jan. if Plymouth know they?ve got ?5Mil incoming and a striker going out then every other club knows to inflate the price as they?re desperate. Contracts generally don?t expire in Jan so everyone is locked in.
I?m not suggesting Jatta isn?t good, I really like him, but he?s playing for the team that has the highest XG In the league and he?s scored one more than that moron at Swindon.
I think he?s on course to score 23 goals, which is good, but a huge gamble for a Championship team.
I don?t want him to go but I also trust the Bros will have a suitable replacement lined up if he does go. The only concern is we are then the desperate club being held to ransom.
Have to disagree somewhat. Promotion will obviously help sustain the crowd growth - not least due to higher away followings, but our crowds were increasing year on year, COVID times apart, not just in the promotion season. One reason they’re growing is the revolving door - the one that is continually bringing in bright, young (mostly) talent that’s improving what’s happening on the pitch. The disappointment of losing favourite players is tempered by excitement in the new players we’re signing and who’s the next gem. We faltered a bit after promotion because we didn’t strengthen defensively - now resolved. Personally I don’t think Jatta will leave now unless someone gets silly with the money, if he continues as he is then he will probably go in the summer but I expect us to adequately replace him and keep moving onwards and upwards.
Also we must remember that promotion to a higher league comes with greater cost as well as greater revenues - I trust the current ownership to maintain a sustainable cost base too - I.e. not pay stupid wages to attract new players in order to chase the dream.

We must never lose sight of the fact of how close the club came to being a Bury or Macclesfield. I can understand why some fans might be worried and concerned about the club selling good players and thinking will we sink and slip into a downward spiral again or lose an opportunity for promotion by doing so. We have not graced the second tier since 1995 and have not graced league one since 2015 both 30 and 10 year milestones being reached this year. For me our natural level is league one. For almost 20 years from 1999-2019 thats all we know decline boom and bust, and a revolving door of what must be hundreds of players who we have sold for nothing and which many dropped down the leagues after leaving the club.
So its a precious and special thing to have talented players and fans in the team and fans will want to hold onto that. Weve been starved of having teams and players who are a delight to watch and who make us feel proud of our team and club.
In the past five years we have had far more players on the up or who have developed and been sold than at any other time in my 34 years as a supporter. The feel and buzz around the club on matchday and seeing things like the nest driving past the lane during the week and seeing the padel courts busy, the club shop being busy on Matchday its a joy to behold. No longer can you turn up on match day ten minutes before kick off walk in and have three seats to lie down on if you want. The pitch looks amazing and is one of the finest surfaces as this level. Non of this should be dismissed and for me its been an investment in bringing the club back to life. The brothers have built the club up from the ashes and I for one think its a great.
The brothers have got nearly six years ownership of the club under their belt and it all comes down to having trust in the radar as I post regularly. For me recruitment and transfer policy has earned my respect and trust because we are moving onwards and upwards constantly. It might not be as fast as some people want. There is nothing more I would like than to see us grace the championship again.
So Im relaxed now about our best players being sold because I believe the club value players well so we get a good deal and because I think they have a list of replacements lined up who can once settled do just as good job as their predecessor which has been proven.
As I said before I don?t think financially we?d be much better off in L1, TV and sponsorship go up a but inevitably would get swallowed up by wages and gates would be driven by how well we were performing over a period of time.
I agree we gained some fans off the back of that NL season and we?re getting probably a lot of new younger fans now as they want to see live football and have no chance at forest.
The reason we are sustaining it now and through the NL I mainly believe is the product Notts offer. On the whole we play expansive attractive football, we win a lot, the set up looks and feels amazing with the sound system and pitch and we now have a new Fanzone.
I hear no end of people that have been down for the first time shocked how good it is at Notts.
I?ve seen us in all the leagues, turning up to 3k in L1 playing absolute turgid football and walking away absolutely hating it, it?s night and day now compared to those seasons what we see now and the division comes kind of irrelevant.
I desperately want us to go up, I want to see bigger crowds, bigger games and I?ll put my neck on the line and say Jattas going nowhere but we have to trust the process, it?s working.
I don't think Jatta is fully appreciated by the Notts fan base. It took a while to accept he was even worthy of being called a replacement for Langstaff. He's on 12 goals after 25 games but missed a few games due to concussion and international duty. He's probably going to finish around or just under Macca's total of 28 goals for the season, and Macca was seen as the crown jewel, the new Vardy.
This might be heresy but I think he's faster and stronger than Macca, gets involved in the build up more, and can score more different types of goal compared to Macca. I'm not surprised there are several clubs interested in him.
