Triz, we won't slip out. Come on believe!

Let me put it another way. Check out the bookies odds for a top six finish. Paddy Power, Betfair, Corals all have us 1/10. Sky Bet 1/12. Most others at 1/9. These guys know what they are doing. Those prices say "all but guaranteed" to me. Surely they do to you too...?

odds change, our odds for getting promoted pre season were pretty long, looks as thought he bookies may have got that wrong. But the point is, why bang on about it now? If we make the play offs talk about it then, i dont see the point in doing it now.

That means we could deliver relegation form for the remainder of the season, and in all likelihood still make the playoffs. That's how good we have been so far this season.

    Happy Days
In the history of the Championship there is not a single team with 55 points (or more) after 30 games that has failed to make the playoffs.

I completely agree that play offs being all but guaranteed is very premature.

    Tempting fate.

With 16 games remaining there will be many twists and turns yet to come. Teams bellows could hit the kind of unexpected form that we have had, our form could slip, we could suffer some key injuries. Anything can happen. A good, comfortable points lead can erode away in a matter of a few games at this end of the league if we hit a poor patch.

I also think 72 points is too low to be aiming at. 75 is safer. On the face of it, 6 wins and a couple of draws from the remaining 16 games should in theory be enough and you would think that even a drop in form should prevent that but stranger things have happened.

As for how many points needed for automatic promotion, I reckon about 85 points or above will be needed. So we may need to win 10 out of 16 games or get the equivalent in points in order to stand a reasonable chance. I think there are other teams around us who can do that but not us.

I'm not going to slag Derby, but this is a very cringe worthy thread. It doesn't come across as optimism, but it's in the bag.

What Triz is saying, is two injuries could destroy everything. It's February for gods sake.
Even Leicester/Burnley have got away with it up to yet. QPR have just lost their most powerful striker and boy does it show.

Being optimistic we are in a very good position we have to lose 3 games and the teams 7th or lower win all 3 to slip out of the top 6.

So the omens are good and we all believe but we all know that football is a fickle game and our "fiends" up the road know what its like to miss out on a play off place in the last game of the season!

Happy Days though as were are still in the hunt.

We managed to go a full season only grabbing 11 points, this thread is way too premature and could come back to bite.

    Nothing is gauranteed.
