Surely the reason he is playing at sheff utd is the fact that he failed on his move to the premiership and Sheff are one of the few clubs who wanted him. He afterall didnt bother much about Clough when he moved from derby did he? and if Rat and others are to be believed Clough was the one responsible for deciding who to sell and bringing the wage bill down.

And surely the secret of Clough at sheff is he has brought in decent players from higher leagues something he rarely did at Derby, hence the stagnation and eventual change of manager.

It was a fantasy based on a player currently on loan to a club professing his love for the club, as if virtually every player doesn't say that about the club he is currently playing for! That statement is about as much a FACT as the FACT that the moon is mad eof cheese!

Brayford went to cardiff and chased the moeny and playing in the prem, shame it didnt work out for him, now would he take a massive drop in wages to play for Clough igue One? I doubt it, maybe he'd come back on loan if cardiff continue to pay a large chunk of his wages.

It says absolutely nothing about Clough in any case.

Don't ask me for evidence, because it was a while ago I read it, but Clough alluded to the fact that we could have gotten more for him but accepted the bid they made because he made it clear he wanted to play in the Premier League.

I think your right, Wigan made a similar or bigger bid but were relegated (although I also seem to rememeber that they wanted to pay in installements, whereas the Cardiff fee was mostly upfront.)

Bottom line was he so loved playing for Clough that he wanted out for bigger and better things, and which player wouldn't want a 3 year contract on higher wages to play at a higher level?

It hasn't worked for the guy, but who knows if Cardiff are relegated then he may have a future there?
