I disagree about Shorey PG. Sure he doesn't have any pace, but he doesn't waste many passes. If it were me, I would be working on teaching Butler to be able to use his right foot (to get by with at least - he can still cut in onto his left) and get him in at right back.

I'm not convinced by Wynter at all.

A dangerous striker and a right back for Christmas please!

Interesting to read that the ref let you down - again. How unlucky must you be to keep getting such poor officials ?

Could it be the case that they become overawed and are simply not up to taking charge of such high profile encounters in pressure cooker environments ?

Still, one thing did become clear today - at least you now know the identity of your new local rivals. I presume it was them you were booing off at the end of the game, rather than your own plucky heroes ?

    Draw was a fair result.
Shocking second half and totally lost our way untill the 70th minute.
Aldershot took their chances well, created little and had no answer when we played football before the sending off.

Thought the ref wasnt that bad, wouldnt have to moan if we put our corners and crosses to blue shirts and played to both
    wingers.

Sold their allocation Pents which filled the Milton end. That is 2300 or 2400 I think. Bit of handbags at the Fratton Rd Spoons before hand and 1 arrest in the Milton Arms after. Shame but it happens. Papa I remember you all moaning about Clattenburg last season.. We all get poor decisions and have to get on with it.

We got unlucky and had Clattenburg for a couple of games, true.

But judging by the comments on here, you lot seem to be lumbered with poor officials every single game. Maybe you should write to the FL and ask them to send only those officials who won't be overawed whilst refereeing your big games against Conference sides like Aldershot.

Then again, perhaps it is the booing from the stands that is putting them off ?

I refereed for a few years it is not easy. My no 1 moan this season was the Newport game (Lee Collins) plus for me yesterday (Paul Tierney) who for me had a shocker. No complaints about the result nor about the sending off by the way. I don't know if anyone saw the Liverpool v Chelsea game on MOTD, how could Liverpool not have got a penalty for the "Cahill save" late on ? He got away with it twice for me but the 2nd one was so blatant and the referee (Anthony Taylor) had a perfect view. I've said it many times on here the young referees aren't coming through in substantial quality numbers to replace those retiring. I don't know the answer, but I think it will get worse. Hope I'm wrong
