Yes best of luck to Gos and the Hawks tomorrow. Home win at Fp for me, Eastleigh at home anyone ?
Not much romance today with Pompey 1-2 down to Aldershot. This team is just not good enough it seems.
2-2 now with Robinson sent off and 5 minutes to play.
I am very, very happy that I didnt go to Fratton Park today. If any side deserved to win it wasnt Pompey.![]()

at least were still in it,wonder how coventry, exeter, morecambe, southend etc fans feel, and they are only a division below us at the end of the day
Was very poor from us today, really lacklustre & Aldershot deserved to win IMO. I completely lost count of the amount of FK's we gave away, I lost count of the amount of time when Jones had a chance for a quick throw & didn't. I lost count of the amount of Drop kicks he launched towards Storey & Westcarr who can hardly head the ball @ all.
Shoddy, slipshod & we can count ourselves very lucky to be still in the cup.
Nicky Shorey is a has been & Butler needs to be brought in now because I fear if we piss him off he'll bugger off next summer.
Just got in, a dreadful afternoon to be honest for Pompey fans. At times we were dire, Fair play to the Shots they certainly deserved a replay if not more.
I have borrowed this from another forum which quotes Awfs after the game in a radio interview.
"Very entertaining match we should have been home and dry by half time and the players showed character second half when for long periods Aldershot had us under the cosh".
He saw a different game than me then. We were totally outplayed for a major part of the second half. The ref had a shocker, that is no excuse. Just before the Shots took the lead, Storey was blatantly held back but Mr Tierney ignored it as he did many things in the 2nd half. The ball went straight down the Milton End (dreadful error by Close who had just come on) and we were behind. I'll be amazed if we get anything at Plymouth, whats the odds of Reuben Reid scoring ?
Good to see Scully, Fb and Blp and as always at Fp the Remembrance before was 1st class. Shame o
Odds on I'd say. Reid is a class act @ this level & if you believe some was ours for the signing.
Heard the interview & Awfs was bristling, he can hardly come out & say we were crap, but I think he knows full well we were & his decisions were baffling. Taking Westcarr off was a shocking decision.
We couldn't pass, we can barely head a ball to a team mate so why Jones insists on blasting the ball as hard as possible towards 2 forwards who cant head the ball is beyond me.
IMO we were outplayed & more annoyingly outfought. They wanted it more & should've won.
Ref was useless, no consistency @ all. Booking ours & letting theirs get away with the same offences.
I thought AA completely cocked that up today.
Atangana didn't make a tackle second half after his yellow card. Very sensible with that ref. But we lost control, and momentum, and handed it to them.
He either doesn't have full faith in Close, or saw something out of there and went straight to the Dave ***ton 1978 FA coaching book, and decided we needed another body in the centre of midfield and took off a striker.
I thought that was wrong, as was his choice of striker to take off. Storey wasn't having a great day, and seemed to think that hitting the ball as hard as he possibly could was the answer. His first chance was a hard one, but the second was poor.
AA finally got it right 10 minutes later once we went 2-1 down.
Ref was frustrating, and I thought our penalty looked soft (but I was up the other end today), and overall the team should have worked a bit harder first half and killed them off.
On the plus side my kids were mascots today and I thought the club looked after them w
