I can see where your coming from and its true that people do jump on the bandwagon and the oh so lilywhite press often make mountains out of molehills.

As with all things simple its more complicated than perhaps it seems. Tan appears to ahve deliberately sabotaged Mackay from getting another job by releasing the dodgey messages when he did and is clearly incensed that Whelan has given him a job. I find that sort of behaviour very unappealing but thats people for you.

Whelan from my observation didn't mean any offence but should and did apologise for an unfortunate use of words which if true were offensive (racial stereotypes and all that) it happens the best of us sometimes say things that we shouldn't and a simple apology is fine.

Mackay well if the evidence is true should be punished, but thats a matter for the FA, public lynch mobs don't appeal to me and as you say plenty of people jump on the band wagon and condemn others, when if it applied to them they'd be squealing to be "ex

It's not a derogatory term, it has no meaning so I can't see it myself. And this from a man who comes into a city and tries to change its identity.
Give me Whelan over Tan any day.
I have got to agree with you. I raised a similar point when someone complained about someone referring to a Pakistan as a Paki; What is the difference between that and calling someone from Australia an Aussie??[/quote]

It really annoys me when Asians get upset when I call them pakis, bloody PC brigade. Believe it or not one bloody paki even got offended when I spray painted the word paki on the door of their corner shop. My civil liberties count for nothing it seems, people only seem to care about how it makes 'them' feel. I blame

Not sure everyone is calling hm a saint! But Mackay unfortunately undermined his own position with those txts and emails which was rather stupid.

I've never heard anyone have a good word to say about Tan??

Sure people are calling him a saint, or is that just your viewpoint as you disagree with people backing him against what Whelan said, and Tan should not be allowed to be offended because he's a dodgy character?

I do agree that I think Tan is sticking his oar in unnecessarily, and is using the situation as PR, which is almost equally as wrong as the initial comments IMO.
