Like we said before, just what is it that makes those memories so sweet?
Down towards the basement, but a joy to recall.
Down to earth managers, leading down to earth players giving their all. Us against the world.
It is that very spirit that is doing for our nearest and dearest neighbours what it did for us back then. That is why we can see beyond rivalry and applaud their effort's.
Tony Field...he was a real treat to watch, our little talisman in some ways.
The dedicated and totally committed Mick Heaton.

Oh well...back to 'present day' :/

    Yes it is indeed

It certainly is. The current Burnley FC is run and performs exactly the same way that Rovers used to be until recent events. Any fan would be proud of that.

I see that all four parts have now been published on Blueyedboys blog -

Fantastic times and I rarely missed a match home or away.

Winning the Premiership was a great achievement but football had changed dramatically by then.

It will sound daft to the young uns on here but I could never trade the 70's for that Premiership title.

Some would say - that's because back then we 'earned it'. Whereas in 95 we 'bought it'

I would not totally disagree with the parallel, but as said above it was another era, another time, maybe even a completely different set of criteria.

Before I get jumped upon, I just need to repeat that BFC have achieved with the same ethos. BUT,

    Well I'll be !
Just been going through the memoirs of BEB (as provided above - many thanks).
I note that he (BE refers to Tony Field just as I did - Talisman.

In addition he very eloquently reminds me/us maybe why we have such fond memories.
It was Kens amazing and very, very welcome enthusiasm, energy, and openness which endeared him to the support.
Dare I say that GB could do well to read up and study the mans 'approach'.

I was looking for a 'sigh' logo, but there ain't one - nearest is 'blue'.
And that's been the colour for too long now.
