re: Into the hat we go...

Great performance today - were comprehensively the better team.

Have to admit that I was concerned when we started retreating in the last 25 mins. Saints did not create one meaningful chance when we were attacking but we rode our luck a little late on - O Hallaran missed an absolute sitter at 1-0 and we had a few last ditch blocks. It would have been an injustice but sometimes that is the way of it.

Players like Dowie Higgy, Burns were immense. No failures and the formation worked well. The manager did well to go back to back 4 late on but we did invite a bit of trouble but fortunately Saints were very poor.

    Berwick or Spartans please.

Agree with Louis nobody from our League please.
I didn't think we played beautiful flowing football but it was a compelling game. When did we last knock out Premier League Scottish cup holders.I thought 3 at the back limited our passing options at times but i can see why we played it.Everbody played well.A team of guys who wanted to win more than the opposition.Burns and McShane kept pressing when we got really deep.Burnsy is just a great competitor.
Disappointed with St Johnstone.Very one paced but a great scalp to take.Surprised in a lack of class from a frustrated James McFadden a couple of times.
    A home draw v Berwick/Spartans please.
    Well done boys.

Just to follow on from my opening post.Have to say that St.Johnstone were disappointing.Very one dimensional with their only option seemingly the big punt to the back post where Queens coped admirably, mopping up all that was thrown in,despite a couple of nervy moments.
If I was to pick a man of the match it would be Dowie, but,as previously mentioned they all stuck to the task manfully and gained a deserved victory.
Sorry to see some minor trouble involving the "young team" but as I don't know exactly what was going on I won't make any further comment.

Re.the Hoops reference.Normally I would prefer the so called "Glamour" ties in the later stages of a competition, but todays performance suggests that we could really give the tattiemunchers a game of it at Palmerston. So if that's who we get in the draw I would not be too upset.
Having said that, I would still prefer Berwick/Spartans or Stranraer home or away before we get the Tinks

From reading elsewhere,it appears that two Saints fans came into the terracing and started mouthing off etc.A bit of "handbags" ensued and the two were ejected.

    Kinda lax security involved somewhere?

Whilst I enjoy a cracking atmosphere and all that is involved with it,there's
no need for scuffles nor indeed smokebombs which were let off again (by both sets of supporters it has to be said!)
I have said it previously...to the young team etc.
Don't let the club down by your buffoonary.By all means sing, chant and dance your hearts out,but don't give the powers that be,a chance to hit the club with a fine or worse.

First things first , what a great result yesterday . I don't think Jim had a save to make and thought every player played at their skins for a deserved victory

Secondly , what a shambles in the away end yesterday . Despite being warned of a big away support Queens failed to open & clear the Terregles Street terrace . Having the St J fans sitting in the segregation section was far from ideal and it ended in two St Johnstone 'fans' walking straight into the Queens end to cause bother with the young team . The two unfortunate incidents could of been avoided if proper segregation was in place & the away terrace opened .

A great away support spoiled by a small group looking for trouble before the game at Market Square & at Palmerston
