    re: Blatter Wins

    What will happen?

Nothing, as usual. Lots of hot air and postulating but in the end it will come down to nothing at all because there is nothing anybody can do. Just as it is with the Premier League - they are their own bosses, others can make as much noise as they like but there is nobody to police them.

If UEFA pulled out then that would cause some action but will we do that? I would say it would be difficult, Russia certainly wouldn't support that move, seing as 1) they have the 2022 World Cup and 2) Putin has already slagged off America for getting involved in the investigation. Russia are clearly looking out for themselves, which is natural. So if UEFA want to pull out then Russia will leave UEFA, maybe a couple of smaller countries may join them, who knows. But it would be a major move, it's not just a case of Platini saying 'Right, we're pulling out'. It's the same problem you get with the UN - it's hard to get a unilateral decision.

I mean we probably wouldn't care too

it's just clever politics, plain and simple. he plays the numbers game and that's what wins elections.

corruption doesn't matter to continents like Africa and asia. lets be honest it's rife!

what matters to them is giving them a voice and sharing the power of football. s korea 2002. south Africa 2010. Qatar 2022.

these are regions that never had a hope of hosting world cups until blatter rocked up.

how many votes has that netted him? a majority.

different cultures is part of what makes a world cup great but stadia, quality of host nation, feasibility and public backing amongst other things should be big factors.

fifa is corrupt, that's a fact. there's so much wrong with the people that run it. I wonder though, if Europe had staged the last 5 world cups would they be in as much uproar as they are now?

Didnt someone say most of that before!!!!!

And I would watch what you say that is liable. There is no proof at this time FIFA is corrupt. There is an investigation into some possible corrupt activities by memebers of FIFA but this has not yet been proven and certainly at this point its considered the possible actions of the individuals and not orchastrated by FIFA itself...

Bet then your not very good with FACTS are you

For a libel action to succeed the plaintiff has to show that their reputation has been damaged by the alleged libel - not much chance of FIFA's reputation being damaged given its current standing!

Wrong it is covered under defamation!

oh dear rat, I can't believe you fell into such an obvious 'trap'!

you can argue semantics between 'is' and 'was' but when you have an executive committee member and president with the following record:

On 1 June 2014, the Sunday Times published leaked emails given to them from a "senior figure inside the sport’s governing body". There were several emails leaked which shown that:
Two days prior to inviting 25 members of African football associations on an all expenses paid junket to Kuala Lumpur, $200k USD

You are as bad a lawyer as you are a statistician - I'll stick with my understanding of the libel laws. In addition, as usual, you didn't understand the point of the post which was just to be slightly humorous - poor boy you can't help yourself can you.
